Anyone got a copy of this?

Not sure if it's a licensed song or what - needed for a project.

Hey Basquille, i have a dance version of it i think, i will look over weekend for ya, dont think there is a normal version released though!

Cheers but 'fraid just the normal version will only suffice!

Maybe someone recorded The Sunday Game off TV and one point and just need to lift the theme off it.

Don't know the name of the song but it was recorded by James Last...

Alas its' no longer used - for the last two season's they've had a nondescript piece with some wierd chants replace the original theme. Maybe it will be back this year though?

Unfortunately, it's the full version but here you go:

You can edit the file to suit your needs. Good luck! :)

    Cheers mate.. much appreciated!

One of the lads in the lab needs it for their project presentation in a few weeks - doing a virtual tour of Croker so thought it'd go well with it!

Thanks from me too. It's a good theme tune. It's a shame they ever change it. They 'new' one just doesn't get the aul' adrenaline pumping on All-Ireland Final Day.

Both themes are dire. The current one is pretentious mash of Braveheart/gladiator wailing. The James Last theme would be handy at an old folks party if one wanted to induce some form of movement, but as a theme for our national games its cack.

Don't thank me, thanks the 'All Things Retro' section of Boards and the user who originally uploaded the theme a few months back.

It's called Jagariarten AFAIK. I've tried in vain to get that so many times - if anyone finds it again do let us know!

If anyone could email me an audio version of the old Sunday game I would be very grateful. My sister is getting married and wants to play this for her entrance to the reception. Impossible to get. Would be really grateful!!

James Last’s ‘Jagariarten’ composition, picked up from Israeli television in 1979

The copy of the theme I have is currently sailing across the Atlantic from Montreal in a CD spindle along with the rest of my stuff. They'll be arriving in Sligo in the first week of October, so I'll have a search for it then. I don't have a copy apart from that. Sorry for not replying before now people. I didn't know that this thread was still going.

The Phoenix (not the most reliable, but anyway) this week implied that it was the GAA top brass' wanting RTÉ's coverage to be modernised which was the underlying reason behind the change in theme. The daft theme they used for 2004-2006 was gone this year, though the piece they used instead was rather nondescript and forgetable. Here's hoping next year the proper theme returns.

Finally, I found the version that was heard on the Sunday Game until it was replaced. This is the RTE version, complete with crowd noises, etc.

    Download me!
