    folks heading to Riga in Latvia in September, anyone ever been? what's the place like

    thing is I'm probably going to be there for a half day ahead of teh rest of teh people going because of flights is it teh type of place ya could wander about doing the tourist bit?

    Was just there in April, and it's a brilliant city. I'm personally into WWII/historical things, so the Occupation Museum in the old city was really nice. The Freedom Monument is also a great visit. The name escapes me, but there is a church that goes 24 stories up and gives a great panoramic view of the city. Dress warmly though :)

    Thread already on this... might have a few more ideas. My impression of it wasnt so great- but i think it comes down a lot to personal interests and the type of trip you are looking for. Have fun!

    Well my sister's BF was there a few weeks back and I think altogether their cards got skimmed for close on €5,000....so you'd wanna be careful of that anyway!
