linksys problems

    sorry if this is a reapeat or belomg elsewhere,
    i have a lynksys wrt54gv.5 that's not connecting, my connection works fine on poe but when i plug mu router in nothing, my network icon tell's me i''m connected but can't access webpages, it also says i have little or no cecction before tellin me i'm connecting, have done a firmware update, can only acess set up page by first unplugging router. am i missing something? or is my router knackered:confused::confused::D

    Have you set the Linksys to get an IP by DHCP from the modem, or set it statically?

    What type of internet connection do you have? You mention a poe which is usually used to power antenna so you either have an Irish Broadband, ICE Broadband or Digiweb connection...

    Not sure about the last two but I know for definate that Irish Broadband need static IP addresses to work properly.

    my ip is set for static
    internet connection by callidus telecom via a yoke by the chimney:)
    it's been working fine until thursday/friday last week
    is there any way of checking the router??

    The router has it's own config page running. Just stick its IP into a browser.
