    Simple question.

Sittin here in the office and the bloke across me has that bloody Nokia tune set to loud. Does my head in every time his phone rings.

Currently I have 'Knights of Cydonia' by Muse which is pretty cool.

So do you prefer the simple 'ring, ring' or do you download the latest pop 'classic' for whatever ridiculous price they cost?

Mexican Hat dance, timeless classic. Never bought a ringtone ever, just use a data cable.

Amy Winehouse "Rehab" has been my ringtone for ages. I recorded it off the radio, couldn't be arsed paying for tones.
Anyone who's ever gotten anything from Glomobi should be shot.

It's not your usual ringtone, but it's the jingle @ 3:39 from the end of this video clip :D

Wait, is it the song in ringtone form, or an mp3 type ringtone?

    The latter are ultra gay:p

Nah tis the ringtone form. Just the chorus and the riff. I'll use an MP3 one if the song has a good intro though e.g. 'Plug In Baby' by Muse was my previous.

Why do you think that? I much prefer real songs to crappy ringtones! And if your phone has a recording thingy, you can just record off the radio without subscribing to any of those shitty tone companies.

Either vibration alert or the Nokia theme on low. Defining yourself by your ringtones is pointless.

I've got Beirut's Cherbourg. Nice song, and it starts urgently enough for me to know I'm getting a phone call. It's also a secret signal to attract other available, discerning music fans within earshot.

"Hmm. She likes Beirut. And she has a phone. I should get her phone number, so I can call her and we can go to Beirut together. This will inevitably lead to a strong and healthy relationship." etc

Problem is, I can't listen to that song recreationally any more because I get a Pavlov's Dog sense of phone panic whenever I hear it now.

Some would say they would rather know its their phone ringing in a group of people than having the same common as muck nokia ring tone so i dont see how its pointless. Also vibrating alert isnt a ringtone as such if you want to talk about things being pointless.

I have mine set to Hate to say i told you so by the hives or plug in baby by muse - the same as xavi above.

Used to work in a certain city centre newsagents. At the weekends, all you could hear was that fecking Nokia ringtone, when people would come in to buy their Saturday and Sunday papers. They were older folks, so not only could none of them change their ringtones from the default, they were all too deaf to hear their phones going off the whole time.

    All. Day. Long.

I think mine is Judith by A Perfect Circle, but I've had my phone on silent for about six months straight now so I can't be sure. It's always in my jeans pocket so not really any need for a ringtone

Love it, reminds me of the music and jingles from old open university programmes. :D

Meh, I've got different ringtones for everyone in my phonebook... they're various snippets from songs I like... makes it easier to tell who's calling without having to look at the phone.
Just get an IRDA dongle or a data cable IMO.

This is what I use. I used to just have my phone on vibrate with no ring tone but have grown to love Numb3rs so much that I relented and adopted the theme as my own.

The 'Cornered' theme from Phoenix Wright (the first one)...ahhh, that music gives your life meaning, and makes you want to be a lawyer for about 3 minutes.
