Hows the prep going? Are you nervous yet??? What part are you least looking forward to? Will I ever stop asking questions????

Not that, I'm fortunate enough to have a start date of Aug for GV from C13, but recruitment advised not to withdraw from C14 'just in case anything happens' !!

still very much want PSNI despite being KOS ! :)

so Given1 you a more or less in! Im sure you had no probs with the medical and stuff? What could happen now that would bar you? Your merit number low enough? No need to tell us exactly!
How is everyone preparing for their AC? Getting any advice? Courses? Just going to wait til it comes up and be yourself!?
Oh yeah Mrs Gene Hunter...I thought you did your shoe shopping in the Big Apple!?

They're meaning 'a change in personal circumstances', although anything that changes now is surely going to affect C14 !
Lot's of probs with meds including an appeal, but got there eventually.

so who else is coming to join me ?? =)

Ok PYG is just in the door form work!!! Not sleeping (but will be shortly)

Ac lasted 2hours for me, tho i was first to get everything over with.

    Interview- i found easiest
    Roles plays- not bad
    Written- no too sure

    12 people there

1 person left after first exercise

Consensia warned of these message boards.

Im really tired, so off to bed. I will go into more detail tomorrow (so tune in)

Really dont know if i did well or not

havent even got my medical yet, i never received a letter, rung up a few weeks ago and was told that my medical had been scheldued for april 2nd:eek: bit dissapointed in the system tbh as the wait has been agonising enough... i appealed it and theyre sorting me out with a new date! the only fing that can bar me is that i have a tear in my cartlidge on my knee and cnt bend or squat:( as for my merit number its 834, if any knows if thats good or bad? i think gcbc said it was decent enough! the only advantage is the 50/50 recruitment as im from a rc background

Is your injury permanent or how did it happen do you mind me asking? How did they find that out? By getting you to bend, squat? Hope you get in.

Be careful what you disclose about yourself on the internet.

havent got my medical yet, apparently the letter got lost in the post:rolleyes: ive appealed and should be hearing back with a new date! playing gaelic football, freak accident!! i got an MRI scan done up at the mater in north belfast so waiting on them sending me out the results, theres def a tear but just dnt no to what extent how bad it is! thats why im brickin the medical cuz i was told they make you do some type of squat, i cant bend over at all with out severe pain and the strain shows in my face, so ill be scooped as the police would say;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 160 ✭✭manaka

Wouldnt ultrasound not help it for now or something? What a buggar. Maybe you could squat with your good leg facing the doc and hide the bad leg! Dont ask me how! ha.

Judge dread, dont think its advisable to put up personal info even if it is can be searched. wouldnt want another boarder to get into trouble now, just giving some advice. Hes gone. End of story, no one wants to know about him

hey given, just a bit of info here. they will make you squat, touch your toes, stand on one foot. you then get up on the bed and the doc will bend your legs in different ways to check your joints and also tap you in the knee with that wee hammer thing

well if conors right, my plan is out the window! ha. Anything else conor? They bend arms, necks to check for wincing or anything? Not that I have any problems apart from my knee clicks sometimes, doesnt give me any bother, maybe it just needs strengthening up or something.

emm dont think so, i was told it was going to have to be keyhole surgery, its really annoyed me cuz i payed to get my eyes lazered which have been sorta sh.. too!
lol o i for hiding my knee if only god had blessed me to be triple jointed and a cortornishnist :D

Judge dread i agree with manaka, people have been told of by PSNI for less, its not worth the bother, hes gone and forgotton about and will hpefully never make it as a police constable!

they will check all your joints basically. wouldnt worry to much about a bit of clicking. my wrists and everything click and i passed.

Given if your leg is real bad then you might be better giving it the time to heal anyway before going any further. even if you have to wait to get the surgery it would be the best solution. you wouldnt want to do some permenant damage in the mean time.
althoughi should put up a disclaimer saying im not a medical expert thats just my opinion;)

wish you good luck though and a speedy recovery:)

howd you find the laser? 20/20 now? Would you not consider going private to get it done? Couldnt a locksmith do it for half the price!? :D If you regretfully do fail, will you try again. How many times have you applied?
