Dublin Fire Brigade eyesight

Heya,

Im really worried i dont have 20/20 vision its more like 17/19. I've wanted this job for so long will be hopefully in de 2nd class I was wondering if ye reckon this would be good enough to pass de eye test or should i get de laser. I asked lots of people including fire fighters they've all said i should b ok cos my eyesight is only slightly impaired and de main reason people fail is if their colour blind. Thats wat de doc in mercier med told me anyway but i realise now de med is in beacon well at work clinic they might b stricter. On de criteria it said 20/20 or 6/6 but on de fire services website it said 6/9 or 6/12 is grand. I'd definitly pass with 6/9 as one eye is 6/7 and de other 6/9.

Can anyone shed any light on de subject i realise i haven't much time cos i was told de2nd group are starting in jan09 de latest but could b called up before then.
