Anyone got any idea's for a january wedding. For instance what colours for the bridesmaids? What flowers will be in season? (and reasonably cheap). Also have got a quote from a photographer for 850 which will include a disk with circa 200 photo's (no album or printed photo's) Is this good value or would the savings be taken up printing photo's ourselves. Any idea's welcome
    Thanks

Make sure you are allowed to have pics taken during the service.

I was at a church today with the couple and the vicar turned round to me and said no pics during the service - period!!!

She hadnt said anything to the couple about that rule and they are pissed big time especially as they are from Aussie over here to hitched especially!!

The photgrapher seems very good value, I'd ask to see some examples of his work. On colours lovely warm jewel and metallic colours would be great. Think rich, ruby reds, midnight blues, forest green, fushia pinks, deep golds and bronzes. Flowers wise calla lily, roses, ivies, plus anyway you can pretty much get what you want at any time of year, just look at what the flower sellers on Grafton St. have at that time of year, it's still an excellent display.
Make sure to negotiate your food bill and room rates for guests as this is traditionally the slowest time of year for hotels. Also if a friend of their dad/mum/sibling etc has a great car use that. Make your own invites, it's fun and doesn't take long and they can look much better than shop bought one, DIYweddings are great for that, don't skimp on entertainment as it makes the night, check what the local choir is for the church, organists etc. they can be quite cheap, print your own mass booklets you can get templates for the net.
    Best of luck and congratulations.

that is pretty cheap so i'd advise checking if they are professionals (ie, they'll have insurance, they'll have backup equipment, they'll have photographed in dark venues before etc)

ask to see full albums of their work, do you get on with the photographer, they will be hanging about all day on your special day, you don't want someone who you don't see 100% eye to eye with
