Please recommend a router

Hi all just want to know what i need,

i want to connect my voip router (which is in the dining room )

to another one in the attic. (I have a patch cable running up there already)

i want this to be wireless but also have 3 or 4 Ethernet connections for wired connections to upstairs (in future)

Hope this makes sense.

Is this what i need? seems to have rj-45 all round.

Hi John...

Is your VOIP router the main router, ie taking in a phone line/cable/fixed wireless broadband signal?

The router you linked is the type you need, RJ-45 all round. I'd reccommend Linksys (WRT54G). Connect your long patch between a LAN port on the VOIP and the router that will be upstairs so that they are all on the same network. On that note, ensure that the IP of your 2nd router is different to the VOIP (likely to be 192.168.0 or 1.*) and that the DHCP server is switched off on the 2nd router.

After that, it should be good to go.

Thanks just what i wanted to know.

Yes the voip is connected to the receiver on the roof.

will give it a go.

The general consensus is that the wrt54gl is the best version to get.
