    Hey Folks,

Have a wedding this Saturday coming - mate is biting the bullet at last!

But I have a question - planning to go without a tie but on mentioning to folks here in work they reckon its manners to have a tie! What is your opinion???

I'm planning to wear a decent navy fitted herring-bone suit & the shirt is baby-blue/white pinstripe with white collar & cuffs!

    Any suggestions appreciated!

    Cheers!

I am involved shooting on average 2 weddings a week and there are loads of people who don't wear a tie. Sooooo, in todays age, it probably wont be regarded as a flogging offence if you didn't wear one.!!

Just wear a tie will ya! Can always take it off during the reception. Its a bitta respect for your mate to dress well and wear a tie at his wedding.

Wear whatever you are comfortable in - just make sure it is smart. A suit without a tie can look smart.

If you do wear a tie, wear it for the whole night. Don't take it off at the reception it looks very immature, scruffy and a tad tacky.

Oh no! Wear a tie - definitely! - and loose the shirt!!! Those ones with the white collar and cuffs look rediculous!! (sorry, just my opinion!)

Wearing a tie does not equal dressing well. In fact those who look good without wearing a tie are usually better dressed than those wearing a tie, as it's very easy to throw on a suit and tie and not make it look good.

Ties are just one of those formal expectancies that people feel obliged to wear. It doesn't necessarily make you look well dressed.
