Who do you think has improved the most as a player in the season just finished??

    I think:

    Flamini
    Ashley Young
    Glen Johnson

For me Adebayor really stepped up to the plate after Henry left.

    Robbie Keane.

Rio Ferdinand. He was a very good defender, now he's one of the best in the world.

    David Bentley of Blackburn

Ashley Young. The best thing about it is that next season he'll hopefully be even better now he's getting used to the 'Ronaldo' role.

Wes Brown for me. I felt he came on leaps and bounds this season and was amazed at how calm and competent he was against Barcelona. Brilliant.

I'd say Adebayor. I didn't rate him very highly at all last season, now he's considered one of Europe's best strikers.

Impressed with Walcott's improvement after the half way point too. Pity he didn't play like this all season. hopefully he'll become the player Wenger predicted next season.

Gotta be Martin Laursen, only played 15 games in the previous two seasons and played 38 this year, and was undoubtedly a cracking player for most of the times he played.

Bounce back ability for the win!

    Good thread

    Lescott has been brill.
    Brown aswell.
    Krancjar has improved alot.
    Ronaldo is consistently improving.

But would defo give it to Fabregas, jst for his performances at the start of the season

Adebayor or Young, havn't seen as much of Young so i'd go with Ade, I knew with Henry gone he'd be given more space to play his game and he'd finally look the part, but he stepped up so much more than I expected after Thierry left.

Ferdinand, I never really rated him before but hes been brilliant this season

Lescott or Anelka when he was at Bolton.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 729 ✭✭✭scruff321

hardly say anelka has improved hes always been a consistant striker where ever hes been almost.

kranjcer is a real good player

adebayor has really come on leaps and bounds quality striker

wes brown and to be fair even tho i hate him riotard ferdinand has done well

Wes Brown. A bit player before this season to one of the most consistant players in a United shirt with more appearances than anybody else.

adebayor/walcott both shined, if only walcott was given more playing time

    Wes Brown and Flamini.

Ronaldo, showboat last year with little impact to the best player in the world at the moment imo. Absolutely immense this year for Utd and without him surely would have dropped 20+ points.

Walcott, had my doubts last year, my god he' going to be fantastic player next season, unbelieveable pace!!

Im an Arsenal fan but sorry to say Adebayor needs 5 chances before he puts one away, having said that he has still improved.

Lescott's really played well and has added goals.
David James has been immense. Rolled back the years.
Also think Ballack has performed pretty well in the second half of the season.

Eh? He was the Player of the Year last season and United's top scorer!

    Ya, crazy post.

Ronaldo scored 23 goals last year with 20 assists.

Must have been a coincidence old Wes was trying to play for a mega money contract at Man Utd this season.

    consistently average.

Rio Ferdinand has really stepped it up this season - he has been fantastic.

Flamini has been stunning this season - will be interesting to see if he can bring that form to Milan.

Carvalho has been great for Chelsea this season, their best player imo.

Torres has done brilliantly for Liverpool - better than he was for At. Madrid imo, and alot better than i though he would be. Hopefully he suffers from second season syndrome...

Lescot has been amazing for Everton, considering he is not a natural full back .

Keane and Jenas have improved themselves at Spurs, have to say i was a little disappointed with Berbatov this season.

Ashley Young has been nothing short of brilliant this season for Villa, i'd say a lot of clubs are wishign that they had taken the punt on him at Watford. Barry also deserves a big mention - hopefully Villa can hang on to him - i think a move to Liverpool would be a mistake for him.

Ye spot on why would you move from a similar status average english team to another?

Ronaldo - considering people thought he couldnt get any better!
Rio - best defender in the world, end of story
Brown - i think his lack of injuies coincided with his finding great form. He was absolutely immense in both games against barca and is under rated for me. Will never be a top top player but considering I used to hold him in the seem esteem as JOS and Silvestre as an error prone watser, he really has come on. I no longer worry when I see his name on the team sheet.

Fabregas - has been very good the last few years, this year he was brilliant
Adebayor - has grown into the top striker role very well

TBH half the Arsenal team grew up this year so a lot to mention.

Robbie Keane - has grown into one of the best strikers in the Prem this year

Torres - was very good when at Athletico, has been world class this year, hsi goal today was top top class.

    Ashley Young - phenominal

David Bentley - integral part of Blackburns team now.

Ill second the Torres being an improved player despite it being his 1st PL season. He was great for AM we know, but i didnt think he'd score the amount of goals he had this season. He is the difference between Liverpool and the CL chasers.

Methinks a new LONG TERM contract for Ashley Young.

Silly comment. You don't play over 50 games for the club and have Fergie refer to you as outstanding if you are average. With that said, I see you named him on the other thread as one of the players you'd like to see leave the club so I'm guessing you just really dislike him. Why I do not know.

Yah I'd say Bentley, Young and Ferdinand probably. David James was amazing this year too. Can't remember what he was like last year.

Is there a seperate 'Goalkeeper of the Year' award, btw?

    most improved striker-riise:D

Whilst not the most improved player, Theo Walcott seems to have come strong towards the end of this season. Maybe he'll be a big part of Arsenal next season? I don't really see Bendtner as getting any much better.
