    10 Premiership Titles

    Ferguson = God

What an amazing comeback from Ferguson to where United were three years ago. And the crowning glory for Ryan Giggs. Brilliant!:D:D

WE ARE CHAMPIONS TODAY, 17th Time too :)
are you serious Will, Man United have won the league and fair play but they did have a lot of help from the ref. And yet instead of reasoning it out, Manc fans seem to be blanking it and saying it is because I am not a Man U fan that I am reminding ye. shame really, well respected fans and all that

To be fair Ref had crap game decisions were all wrong I cannot argue, from Rio's Hand ball to Scholes being molested in the box. He had crap game but that benefited us no end , so ya I will agree with ya on that.

    BUT

No point in peeling the skin, because we have won today, and not just on Goal Diff either.

Bad refereeing is the leagues problem, Wigan put up a great fight today, and I dont think anyone could say they rolled over, and also fair play to Bolton, they also put up a great fight.

End of the day Ref's like Bennett want to see their name in the papers, like he always does, eg: Man U Vs Pool.

Fair play will, at least with a bit of poking you addressed the issue. He bottled it with the Scholes sending off too, should have gone for the first challenge that he got a yellow for and then should definitely have gone with the second. And if he was off then he could not have been molested in the box.

as already said, would have made little difference as the league was still won with a draw but 11 on 10 is a completely different game.

Would you go way out of that. Yes it was a booking but to be fair Valencia IIRC made an absolut meal of the challenge.

Listen fella. Our team just won the league, is it any surprise people don't want to talk about the ref but actually celebrate a season of success?

To please you though, yes he did make mistakes. But were in this thread after the Blackburn match pointing out how we didn't get penaltys we should of got? Were you posting that the ref that day was helping Chelsea win the league? Infact I seem to remember several posters moaning at Ferguson about his comments about refs but the same people are doing it themselves.

Anyway, what a day. Almost had a heart attack with that Heskey header but we are champions!!!

I'll bite, YES the Ref was bad today , and missed alot for both sides Scholes second booking was a bit of bottling thing , As for Rio's Handball my red specs seen it hit the shoulder , but he also missed the 2nd peno on Scholes and hand ball by Wigan in the second half,
What can I say ANOTHER REF HAD A SHOCKER

As for coming on there over and over again on the night we fill the title
    thats just Trolling
    But

Yeah I didn't think that was a booking myself. He got the ball and it was an honest challenge. If it was deemed a foul due to it being reckless then fair enough but to book him into the bargain? Harsh imo.

Great pic of SAF here courtesy of Sky:

Just watching Steve Claridge and a caller brought up the point that Ferguson was grooming Queroz(?)..to which Claridge replies ''No...no'' as if it was fact, and that there is no chance Queiroz would be manager. Idiot.

As a forum mod I will tell you that it is neither trolling or disgraceful ROCK. I said that the ref would be involved in United winning the title before the game, a united fan said "we don't need the ref" and I have not seen him on here saying actually I may have been a little off there. I can see how you think that is trolling but YOU ARE WRONG, and you have agreed with what I said anyway in the most case (BTW ref could not have given a pen on scholes had he rightly been sent off).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,040 ✭✭✭✭adox

A (BTW ref could not have given a pen on scholes had he rightly been sent off).

Well if we take tht logic on board then he couldnt have sent him off for the second offence as according to you he should have already been sent off.

I think most if not all United fans have said that he was lucky to stay on the pitch and that it was a handball by Rio but ffs the game is over, they`ve just won the league and your posts read as if your are trying to stir it just for the sake of it.

Very true, so you agree that he should have went for that first challenge then ? See, this is easier and easier, was not just the challenge but also that he went in with his elbow up.

So when people do it all the way through the season it's okay but on the last game of the season it's disgraceful. Are you serious ???

No of course I dont agree he should have gone for the first challenge.

    You are trolling imo.

And you are wrong. is it impossible to have a reasoned discussion because ye have won the league ? Fans are happy to discuss the same issues at any other time but not tonight. And it is disgraceful because it is the game that won the league and that the ref had a massive influence or is it because I have the temerity to ask the question that is still being asked all over the radio atm.

T4TF just out of curiosity which team to you follow ?

Because the mood of Man United fans today is the same as the other weeks??

and anyway why did you ignore my question about were you posting in here when decisions went against us thus helping Chelsea mount a challenge?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

If the Manc fans are in a better mood then surely they should be a lot less aggressive than they are currently being.

Oh give over please. I presume you are a Liverpool fan? Well if so, you might remember the game near the start of the season at Anfield when Chelsea got a 1-1 draw there thanks to a penalty won by Malouda, via a 'foul' by Finnan that was never a foul.

So it could easily be argued that Rob Styles played a part in keeping Chelsea in the title hunt, right?

These decisions go both ways over a season. To quote Father Ted, I think you should go count your sour grapes now, before they hatch!

That would certainly explain alot of things.

And I think you should look at how this started. Before the game I knew that the ref would have a huge part to play in the winning of te league and sid it here, something that was scoffed at at the time. As it turned out this ref who has done united favours in the past (in fact in this very season) did them some massive ones today, and people are scoffing again now and saying it is because I am a bitter fan instead of saying (apart from a couple, fair play to ye) that the ref had a massive part to play in Uniteds win today.

Can you not see the difference between that and sour grapes/trolling and all of the other things I have been accused of by some rather belligerent people in this thread.

And Denis, you are lucky to still be here, I would stay in my box if I were you.

Ok I apologise maybe I shouldn't have used the picture that I did. It wasn't meant to be personal but what else have I done ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,676 ✭✭✭s_carnage

Ok every United fan and football fan will admit that the ref had a nightmare of a game. He blew a lot of important decisions. Rio's penalty would have been given the majorityof the time along with Scholes. United in fairness should have gotten another penalty in the second half aswell. Regarding Scholes's sending off discussion, Rooney could easily have been awarded a free moments before.

What I'm trying to show here is there are many decisions every single game in the premiership that could influence the outcome of 3 points between two teams. This is a league with which 20 teams play 38 matches with so many dodgy decisions in every match so people cannnot judge a wknd of matches on the outcome on the league
