I’m going to a wedding as a guest of a female friend in which she’s one of the bridesmaids. The question is should I get a present for the couple, who I only know in passing, and if so, what kind of present? The girl I’m going with in giving them cash for their honeymoon, so should I offer to contribute to this? Sorry if it’s a rather obvious question, but weddings seem to have so many does and don’ts.

Imo, you don't need to. You are the plus 1, it's your "date" who was invited and she'll be giving a present.

if you want help contribute towards what your friend is buying, but since you're only the +1 there is no real need too.

    I've always given a gift when I was a +1..

Usually a donation that would at least cover me dinner and it went in with the invitee's gift and was from both of us. But we are a couple and I'm not sure if OP and the Bridesmaid are...

Up to yourself though, I'm not sure about the ettiquete
