All of these issues come under lack of enforcement.

Cops should be able to see bad drivers and pull them for it. If everyone else can see bad driving, and your not even looking for it, you would imagine its easy for the cops to see it. Yet everyone has seen someone do something crazy and get away with it in front of cops.

A guy a work was followed about a 5 mins up a bus lane by a cop, who only pulled him over when he cut across 3 lanes of traffic. But the cop let him off. The same guy still drives like a manic up bus lanes, ignores lanes, cuts in front of queues etc. He does it because he keeps getting away with it. Who the idiot, people who sit in queues and obey the rules or the people who ignore all the rules and get away with it.

I moved over to the US (Los Angeles) from Drogheda in November.

The driving over here is mad.

People don't indicate. Ever. They see it as a sign of weakness. If you indicate to move into a gap on the lane beside you on the freeway, chances are some fecker will speed up and fill the gap..

They tailgate. On each other's bumpers at 80mph on concrete roads that get slippery as a bastard when wet.

I've gone from driving a TDI Toledo in Ireland to a 99 mx5 over here.. bit scary dodging the SUVs in that thing..

That said, there is a heavier police presence here, and pisstake driving you might get away with in Ireland will get you pulled pretty quick here. And the cops have guns here
