1:8 Buggy RTR

Hi folks, I am looking at getting a buggy and I have it narrowed it down to two cntenders, the Hot Bodies Lightning 2 and the CEN Matrix C-1. The CEN is about €110 more expensive but seems to have stronger parts. But is it worth the extra money?

One of my main concerns is the availability of spares, I already know how hard it is to find parts for a Hot Bodies car:rolleyes:, will the CEN be any better?

Also any feedback from owners would be great:)

How about a Crono RS Sport RTR 1:8 buggy? We have plenty of spares in stock.

After some serious searching I found the Crono website, unfortunatlly I don't speak Norwegian so I can't actually read up on the car. The price on the site is 3890 NOK, which equates to abour €485 and they only ship to Norway.
Who sells these over here? And would you recomend them?

I was looking at spending roughly €230 on the Lightning2 from the UK and €340 on the Martix from US, that includes shipping on both, and VAT and Duty on the US order. So the Crono would be over twice what I had intended to spend when I started to think about getting a buggy, would the quality be that much better?

Crono is an Italian company. We have the cars in stock here in Ireland so no shipping costs.

Hobbies Ireland Sell them along with carying spares so you would be well covered there

one other option would be to buy a Hong Nor CR Buggy or the CRT Truggy ?
Tough as nails and parts are as cheap as chips :cool:

Head over to Bolton Model Mart and have a look
Only thing is the CR now comes with a .32 engine which I think you are not allowed to race. ( I stand to be corrected on that )

You could also look at getting a HoBao Hyper 7 TQ Sport RTR £199.00

I have a CRT and would not part with it

Are you looking at new os Used ?
Never know what is out there in the used department

vectra - Was thinking of getting new, but if anyone knows of anything decent secondhand I would consider it.;)

Unfortunatly I am gonna be out of the country this weekend coming, so I wont get any RC'ing done untill the week after, and thats if my spare parts finally arrive:(. Or I get a new buggy in the mean time;)

Well just thought I'd update, I bought the Crono from Bonisio, happy with it so far, got about 4 tanks through and all seems good, except I did manage to strip the steering servo already, bought a metal one to replace it.

This is what it looked like out of the box, only differance is the thread pattern on the tyres. Will add my own pics as soon as i can get my PC to talk to my camera again, they have had a bit of a falling out:pac:

I was wondering, as I have a new bodyshell to paint up, where do I get the paint?
I would be looking for spray cans, as I don't have an airbrush, would normal spray paint from woodies do??

NO!

You need special paint for polycarbonate/lexan. The normal rattle can paint will not bind properly and will flake off in no time. Remember that the body takes quite a beating and flex a lot.

And again. Oh and I haven't finished cutting the shell yet, but at the moment my finger is a little sore as I slipped with the exacto knife yesterday.

Thanks Vectra, here are a couple of pic os the finished shell, just finished it a few minutes ago. I have had to cut away a couple of small sections since I took these photos, to allow the steering to work freely.:pac:
