wedding venues -galway/mayo

    Quick quuestion; We (fiancee & I) just got engaged and are hoping to get married Summer 2009. Everyone laughs when I tell them & say I havent a notion of getting band/hotel etc Would anyone have any recommendations for wedding venues in Galway /Mayo? Will be grateful for any help/advice

    Op I like this place, it's in Ballina
    Its limited to 185 and you have to book the entire castle/hotel

    What about any of the following:

    Ashford Castle (Galway/Mayo border)
    Knockranny House - Westport
    Belleek Castle - Ballina (food here is amazing)

    Mount Falcon is fabulous - but bear in mind it is expensive.

    We're having ours in the Claregalway hotel in Galway. They're fab.

    I'd also recommend the Raheen Woods in Athenry, they had a bumpy opening patch with a few different owners who were absolutely useless. The new crowd took over not too long ago and they're really good and they're trying to shake the bad rep so you might get a good deal on the venue.

    You should definitely be able to get something but don't leave it any later.
