could anyone please tell me what the formula is for calculating the stress Pc when you have the slenderness ratio. i know there is a chart for this but i can't find one (if anyone knows where i could download one of thoses it would be even better) Thanks.

Check out BS5950 - Part 1, I think it's table 27 which will give you pc values.
