    Roma
A stupid risk to play Ferdinand tonight unless he was 100%, Vidic already out we dont need to lose Ferdinand as well.

That leaves us with peanuts in defence. SAF stick brown center back and JOS at right back.

you are talking such rubbish in this thread it is unbelievable. United are the better side so far, and have 3 brilliant chances - Doni is keeping Roma in this - they were far better earlier int he season.

I accept Roma won't go through, but you must accept that Roma have passed UTD off the park since the 25 mark,

If Schalke had a striker they'd be home and hosed by now. Shocking.

They have had some nice triangles in midfield but haven't actually troubled United at all really - United have been the better side all half imo and have created the better chance

Rio doesn't look near 100%, could potentially cost us the title and/or the Champions League if he further injures himself

Utd are all over the place atm. Up till the pen they played great stuff, flowing movement and great passing.

Since the pen they've been like headles chickens. Just need someone to calm it all down. Half time is very much welcomed!!

If rio goes off and he likely puts Josh in we are going to defend Roma with:

    Josh - Wes - Pique - Silvestre

    Dear jaysus!

Anyone see the fist that Taddei threw at Anderson after he took the ball off him? What a nasty peice of work.

100% a penalty. Having watched the replay from behind the goal on about 20 occassions, it was defo a penalty.

Who cares, I am taking Michael Parkinson's approach from now on , when he was on Sky Sports coverage of the FA Cup Barnsley semi final, decision been made, I thought it was a peno , and I am Man U fan. Whats the point in arguing though cause at the end of the day they missed :D.

Disgusted, I maintain Roma have among the best midfield in Europe though.

Gary Neville is coming on for his first apperance since St Patricks day 2007 to a standing ovation.

    On for Anderson.

Also, Barcelona skipper Carles Puyol will miss the first leg of the semi-final after he is booked for clattering into Gerald Asamoah.

Barca were as crap as its possible to be, and make a semi-final. They'll get hammered unless Fergie does something truly stupid, whihc he won't.

Were you watching the same game?????

Some of your posts(which I cant be bothered to quote) on this thread have been shocking, in content, but more importantly in tone.

Try and think before you type.

    Mike.

Barcelona scare me more then any other side in the competition.

They haven't been playing well, but if Rijkard picks the right side against us (basically Marquez at CB) it won't be an easy game at all. Messi should be back for them, and he will be a massive, massive boost for them - they look a completely different side with him on the pitch. I would also back Henry to have his best game in a Barca shirt.

United do have the ability to take the game to barcelona, and to scare them, but Rooney and Ronaldo will have to turn up big time - as will the entire back line.

Even just thinking about Eto'o and Messi feeding off Iniesta passes and taking on Brown is making me a little ill.

Messi on his own scares me.

Also, you know fergie is going to go with both Giggs and Scholes in the starting line up, with Anderson, Nani and Tevez on the bench. Playing a wonderfully cautious 451 formation, probably with Ronaldo through the centre... which means we will struggle horribly.

    Could be freakin epic though.

A good professional win tonight for Man Utd. Roma must have felt like Liverpool being awarded a penalty for a nothing incident but thankfully justice was done and it was blazed over.

I thought Hargreaves and Park played well. I don't think Barcelona are to be feared. I would share Dunphy's concern about Fergie being a bit too cautious but I still reckon United will prevail from the tie to meet Chelski in Moscow.

yeah and I'm sure Barca will raise their game seeing as they'll be coming up against a quality side, there's a lot of attacking quality but their defence is there for the taking imo
