using ipod charger with iphone

annoyingly my iphone charger is broken. It refuses to charge my iphone. I went into carphone warehouse and I was given a price of 35euro for a new charger:eek: Because it has a dock connector is it safe to use the charger that I bought for charging my ipod? Does anyone use an ipod charger to charge their iphone and if so…

It should work fine. I've used the charger that came with my 4G iPod to charge my iPhone loads of times.

I have read differing opinions regarding this but imo it should be fine. Can you check the output specs for both chargers and if there the same well it's fine. The ipod I think is 5V 1000mA or thereabouts. Can't check the iphone charger at the moment but if it's the same you are fine.
