Hi, I have the basic AVG running for abti-virus but have no Anti spyware. Having problems downloading and running Defender. Any alternatives to this and is Anti spyware really essential?

Most folks rant on about avast as being batter than avg but all have additional security like spyblaster (free) , linked below.You should have a firewall as well,spyblaster is great because it works silently and constantly and is not a scanner like avast.

I have alarmzone firewall which is rated the best , but comodo is free and is rated the third best.

You definitely need anti-spyware programs. Download Malware Bytes Anti Malware from here

That is an excellent and free program that will protect you.
