    Band Name: Tantra
    Hometown: Dublin
Type of music: Blues/ Classic Rock/ Metal
    Sounds Like: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Ignore have mercy, it's just a "superstitious" rip-off, and the drummer sounds like he's got the metronome up his arse, but not three bad overall. Caught them in Voodoo lounge a while ago waiting for my mates band, for a bunch of 18 year olds they're pretty good, and their frontman is a fcukin mentalist, but you wouldn't think it to look at the guy.

    They're Gaelic Doom Metal :D

I think they might be from Donegal, but the singer (who plays tin whistle and piano in the band as well) lives in Drogheda. They're really slow paced, like doom metal I suppose, and they use a few traditional instruments as well as guitar, bass, drums...

Their singer Rob O Boiguil will give ya a free demo if ya let him sit beside you on the bus! :D

The best of Irish Death, Black and Thrash follows:

Carnun Rising: Seriously brutal blackened death band from Cork, won the support slot with Slayer at the Marquee in Red FM's contest, deservedly so.

Warpath: Seriously brutal death metal, with savage riffs and lyrics that would make Corpsegrinder blush, these guys are not to be missed, start supporting then now so you can say you were a fan before they got big.

Coldwar: Angry fusion of hardcore and death metal, with a punk mindset. Lyrics books read like an Irish answer to Killing Joke.

For Ruin: One of Ireland's finest black metal bands, my favorite tune of theirs "Jaded" is probably the most accessible and best black metal song I've ever heard.

Condemned: Excellent northern brutal deathgrind band. ...And thats how I found them is a joint not to be missed.

Mass Extinction: Their mission is to create and harness FACE MELTING THRASH! And they do an excellent job of that, the new is album is as good as any of the best thrash I've heard before.

Slave Zero: Everyone knows these guys, no intro needed.

For The Nameless Dead is a great album, seriously awesome. But don't let their latest release cloud your judgment, Warpath and Coldwar are the two best Irish bands around now.

based in dublin - couple of the members hail from kerry and wexford and maybe Dublin but not sure - they also use random things like a cow horn for added effect.
recordings do no justice to the buzz of a live MM show.
they're also nice people which is a plus.
