why not use betas if ur lookin for sumthin like that then?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,401 ✭✭✭✭Anti

The ones i tried before this was beta and wasnt happy with image quality at all. Has there been a recent driver thats kows for a performance boost ?

Speaking of beta, just to warn anyone not to use the latest catalyst one (beta, that is), apparently it's good for crossfire but I tried it on my 3870 and COD4 performance plummeted by about 40%...

Will push the Quad to 3.50 and Gtx to 635/1060 now, should get past 14k

I was quite impressed with the score myself

My full spec for the benchmark run was this:
    G0 Q6600 @ 3.8GHz 9x422
    4 x 1 GB Geil Ultra Low Latency @ 5:6 1012MHz 5-5-5-15
    Gainward 8800GT 1GB @ 720core ?shader 1070mem
    Asus P5E

    All cooled on air

Well can't get it stable at the moment above 3, had it at 3.4 and it posted, 3dmark going well....until the cpu test. so i'll have a better look at that later. Have tried a few different combos of multi's + high/low fsb but so far no luck.

At the moment, this is running on 'casual' OC:

    Need a better cpu....

Ok well I got it stable to 3.2 using 400x8 (stock 1.8), temps are excellent, 30c idle and >50c under load (with the dirt cheap akasa air cooler, again, cannot stress how great value this thing is) but 3dmark is now doing worse...hmmm.

Nice processor Chosen ;), i'd imagine with a SLi set-up on your machine you'd pull in another 3k points on the bench mark.
