Don’t think any cannon maps of the empire's where ever shown on star trek fleet size's, Planet numbers and Population levels where never mentioned either.I guess it’s to allow the writers to make the federation and its enemies/allies bigger or smaller as they see fit.

Such as in Ds9 huge fleet's show up and losses in the order of 900 billion if the war was lost where thrown around yet mankind could over throw and destroy the founders with in a generation! compear that to watching Tng and Tos you be surprised if the federation had more than 100 ships and a couple of billion people.

The Breen benefited most from this “don’t tell them if they don’t need to know” policy they suddenly show up with 1000,s of ships and a uber weapon in tow and managed to challenge the combined might of the federation klingons and romulans.

Ya so er im off to wait for Friday and BF2.
