Story with .ASIA?

I was wondering about registering a couple of .ASIA names.
So with my ISP this is 38USD/name for 2 years.
Apparently you have to be established in asia, like EU. I can ask somebody.

But it is not first arrived, first served. It is the HIGHER bidder.
So I found some good names, short etc.
I can buy them, but next week if somebody places a higher bid, I lose them.

    Not cool lol

Do you understand like me or?

I think you've misunderstood their registration process.

Over the last few months dotAsia has been in "sunrise", which is reserved for trademark and prior rights holders.

At the moment it is entering landrush, which is "first come first served" - however they have added a bidding element to it.

Basically if two or more people submit requests in advance of landrush they will have to bid on the domain.

Once landrush is over and "normal" registration is open there won't be a bidding situation.

Several of the registrars are offering a "local presence" service to cover the requirements of dotAsia.
