ah the boy who cried wolfe,

I think its just the starting table that is hand picked after this the table change intermittently with lets say interesting looking table chosen from the floor

The EPT? PPP have already admitted they have no problem with the fact that they move high profile/friends of the postmans players to the TV table.

As well as non random picking of poeple who will be moved in to make the new feature table more 'interesting'.

I'm not saying that any additions to subsequent Tv tables aren't when someone is knocked out cherry-picked, just that the initial assembly is picked from the floor

There should NEVER be any cherry picking of players,

Just like the WSOP, they should be given the list of names and table numbers to begin with, after the draw has been made, then say "OK, we'll make table 21 the feature table to begin with because Doyle is on it". If Doyle is then knocked out or moved or whatever, have another look around to see what tables look interesting. Then swap the ENTIRE tables, i.e. table 21 all go back to the floor and table 15 (or whatever) goes onto the Feature table, but the movement of players and table balancing just goes on as normal. Have 2 feature tables if they want, but to mess with the integrity of the tournament is terrible.

I beg to differ on what facts are "insignificant". Maybe your opinion on the whole thing would have been somewhat different if you were on the tv table last year. imo.
Were you at the feature table, I dont remember any footage of you in the programme

Yes, I was on the feature table for the first two hours when they had to keep interuppting the play to check camera angles; had producers threatening to throw me out of the competition if I didn't take off my ipod and hat; and had the dealers working at a slower than usual pace. The best part? The cameras weren't even rolling. It was just for a trial run. If participation had cost me more than €210 I would have been fuming afterwards.
I was being faceious, i knew the cameras werent rolling. sorry. you`re just too easy to level.

I don't disagree but I really don't think it is as big an issue as being made of it. The structure for instance is an element that is far more relevant to the majority of players then if elvis and treedledum get to be on TV

Well, lets talk about the structure. What do you make of it? Did you feel it was befitting of the "most prestigous tournament in Europe" when you went deep last year?

    na it was sh1t

edit; Liam flood wouldn't allow the time for the numbers of a chipschop be worked out with 7 left which cost me €120k so believe me I have no allegiance to the demands of TV or the IO for that matter

I would of thought that the draw be done as a random like all other tournaments, have a gander at the table draws and pick out the table that has the most high profile players.
The practice of influencing who sits at the feature table is outrageous!! I know that the tv company is looking for a few recognisable faces but surely with the natural draw and placings you will find high profile tables forming naturally? Simply replace the whole table when it becomes "TV boring" with this new table.
This is something that is going to have to be ironed out before it does some damage to a very important event in the european poker scene.

But you always play for the win, so you probably wouldnt have agreed to it.

after the 8th guy was knocked out there was a few minutes break, when we got back, De Wolfe asked for a chop as his words " theres no poker left in this its just who runs best now" everyone agreed to look at the numbers, we asked for a pen and paper to work the numbers and were refused, told there wasn't time at another stage we asked for the clock to be stopped for a 5 minute toilet break
and were also refused, I complained and received a my second official warning

Official warning for what? Time penalty or expelled? How come we are only hearing about this farce now?

They just didnt want you to do a deal and ruin the TV coverage.

As a bunch of players, you should have fold out a orbit of the table and just done the deal and then get up and walk away. Than let them put up extra money or a payment to each player to finish out the final table etc for there TV game.

I mentioned it before but never made an issue of it I don't really know what the warnings were of I was just told they were official warnings

first one I got annoyed as one of the players were busting for a piss and they wouldn't stop the clock I basically got a bit verbal with the bald TD telling him wtf was he going to do as we all would stop playing, there wasn't much backing from the other players and the guy pulled me aside and said he was giving me an official warning. The first was before the final table from Flood and this is a bit mad he warned me that I wasn't to go allin again without any cards, I thought he was joking at first but he was 100% serious which I found hilarious

that's great from an armchair Ollie but very different when you have a group of very different people in situ

exactly with the money involved, it would take some supreme unity for all to stand up and walk

I'd love PPP pitboss to come on here and justify that treatment of the players. Disgraceful stuff Nicky, I can also see how it would be difficult to deal with at the time.

well tbh it didn't effect how I played or anything but looking back it was our money to chop and not being allowed to do so is wrong. Thinking back now I can remember snapping at the bald guy " do you think its fcuken school children your dealing with here". but it was without doubt a direct result of getting the TV show out that night and I can imagine that the people running the thing IE Mr Flood et al were under real pressure

do you have a trojan on my computer, how do you know I'm on a harmchair???

I think Dewolf should have spoke up, this would be normal enough behaviour at most final tables, but usually the TD will accommodate you by stopping the clock or suspending dealing but let the clock continue.

It would be a nitemare for them if a deal was done 7 hand.

Would have been even worse for them if all the players just ran down the clock and discussed the prospective deal in public at the TV Table.

Maybe instead of moronic rules about t shirts and the quality of collars people are wearing they would be better served by a rule something like stars that any deal done must leave x% of the prize fund and the title (valuable in itself) to play for.
