What song can raise you from the dead? What tune can you dance, prance, jump to, to get over those difficult mornings.

I've went for a mixture of Anger and catchy melodies.

    i.e.

So does anyone elso have a morning song to get them through the early hours?

As an 'extremely hilarious' suggestion, i would say Wake Up! - The Boo Radleys

If you use your stereo's alarm, then I highly recommend Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill. First track on the album and it is guaranteed to wake you up

You in Australia in 2001/02 IB?

I hate mornings, so morning songs don't apply.

Some Pearl Jam or Jane's Addiction. Leash, Yellow Ledbetter or In Hiding by the former are all good.

I dont know the name of the singer, but that song "make your own kind of music". Its pretty bent but if you've seen the first episode of Lost season 2, where the guy's on his morning routine, then its a good one. But ONLY if you've seen that episode.

    It's Mama Cass.

My own song of the moment is Sigur Ros - Hoppiolla.

Nothing like a song about the joy of jumping in puddles sung in Icelandic to get you out of bed in the morning.

Enter the sandman by metallica played loud when I really need to get up and go.

Safety Dance by Men without hats when I need to get cheered up a bit.

    Supersticious by Stevie Wonder

    Galvanise by the chemical brothers

They are the main ones I listen to when I need to get going.

Galvanise is a good one to get going to alright! Loud and bassy to shake off the last of the sleepiness!

Journey too.....but any time is a good time for Journey.

I like Mrs Potter's Lullaby by Counting Crows too, reminds me of Australia so it always puts me in a good mood.

When I set my CD alarm clock it plays House of Pain, Jump Around..... but that's only if I really need to get up and have had a late night the night before! Usually the bog-standard alarm does the trick :p

Ooh yeah!! And I Wanna Rock by twisted sister. For a few minutes it fools you into thinking you want to rock, when you're actually sitting in a traffic jam on the way to the office.

the tone on my phone for the alarm is enter the sandman. So that plays, but then I switch over to my pc or something to play it louder. My gf bought me a stereo system for my birthday today, which I have put in the living room / kitchen which I will use when im out of bed. And put the one that was in the kitchen next to my bed to thump out tunes when im in bed. Might just put it on a time switch at the other end of the room blaring Enter the sandman for when I wake up.

I always find ironic that what I use to wake up is enter the sandman, which is about going to sleep. :P
