    Richie, you said you had a D80, yeah ?

    Do you know will old, non-autofocus lenses work on them or the D40x ? I know they wont auto-focus, but can you manually adjust focus ? The fittings look the same. or will the camera refuse to recognise that theres a lens attached ?

    I ask because I have an old Nikon 301 knocking about, and a few lenses - if they worked it might be worth rooting them out.

    yeah im pretty sure the lenses fit on but as ya said the auto focus function doesnt work.,
    i have lenses from the 60-70s and they work with the D60, 40 years later.,lol

    Cheers...I'll hunt them down. They were excellent Nikkor telephotos and a wide angle.

    They will normal work but as stated you will need to use auto focus and a lot of the feed back you normal get back thought the modern lenses to the camera will not work depending on model some of the other features may not work as well.

    In fairness richie its a stock :p

    A nice stock, but a lump of shoulder plastic all the same! :D

    I've actually been trying to build up a sports portfolio of late myself but unfortunately I'm having trouble finding time to do it anymore. I do a lot of landscape and set piece stuff when I go walking or on a trip. Done a couple of model shoots too.

    The 18-55 is a decent lens, i still have one myself, the kit lens on the D50 is brilliant though, i got a telephoto lens too, i think Nikkor 70-300 but i never really use it to be honest, next on my list is something wide angle or even a fisheye.,

    true, lol, i fited it earlier and it looks class, now all i need is a new mag release catch and a fire selector for it,. ive been stealing parts from it for my other M4 while it wasnt in use.,lol

    ok, figured it out.

    download MIRC on www.mirc.com/

    When you have it installed go to 'File' and press 'select server'

    paste in irc.irishairsoft.ie

    and when it asks what channel type in #airsoft

    and your in!

    then click "add" in the irc server bit

    I just clicked on the link,typed in Mweelrea as my nickname and got it working straight away
