Well..... I've started to finally get my finger out a bit with regards to recording and releasing mixes again! My last one was in October and before that the last one I recorded was all the was back in April. I recorded this one about 2months ago now at this stage.

Anyways, onto the mix itself. I put quite a bit of thought into the programming on this on this one and I'm pretty happy with the end result I have to say and I'm my own worst critic when it comes to these things. The mix is mainly a collection of tracks (bar 3-4) that I picked up very recently and starts of with an old classic (ahem!) off the now supposedly finished Classic Recordings label before going on a miniature deep and techy acid(ish) trip before going a bit deep again before cranking up into some more quirky and full-on jackin dancefloor tracks (big ups Chris Duckenfield!) with a hint of glitch. The mix then really steps up in the last third with some fairly tough and chuggin tech-house tracks before winding down with a couple of tracks that I wasn't sure about (in terms of this particular mix) but somehow I feel worked pretty well in this case (Futureheads and Pier Bucci).

Anyways, enough waffle... Enjoy the mix and as always it goes without saying that I will really welcome any feedback or constructive criticism. Right, I'll kick it off:

Houseplay: A mix of House & Electro. Sorry i don't have a tracklist but here's some of the artists Booka Shade, Julien Jabre, Cirez D, Sebastian Ledger, Surkin, Calvin Harris, Robbie Riveria, Andrea Bertolini, Ferry Corsten, Martijn Ten Velden and more...

With this mix I kind of tried to mix it up a little and throw in some unsuspecting tunes here and there. Starts off very deep with Booka Shade, threw in "Julian Jabre - Swimmin Places" after that, an odd choice but a beautiful tune. After that it gets more dirty and chunky. Hope you like it.

I have one more mix I'll throw up for a laugh too:

Minimalistic: I've been getting really into Minimal recently, strange cause I used to hate it. This is a mix I did totally on the fly with no planning whatsoever - I just tried to play the more bouncy upbeat type tunes (some are not really minimal at all really). Considering I did it totally on the fly with no planning I thought it turned out pretty well!

all about the deep atmospheric bits there, i do mixtapes in reverse order to club sets; i always like to start of with a bang and get deeper and more chilled the further into the mix you go, from years of bitter experience putting on a mixtape while i'm having a few spliffs and an hour later the mix is getting all heavy and pounding and you have to switch it off with a a wrecked head... this one was designed for "fresh home from the club" after party armchair enjoyment.

it's from 1990 and is by someone called DJ Altitude, the first tune is light years ahead of anything from that era (1990) and would still sound fresh today.

Thought I'd stick up this mix which I recorded at the weekend, I'll be using it as my spring promo mix so opinions appreciated.

Created using Ableton (3 channels), 1 midi controller, terratec 3 chan ext. soundcard, vextax 3 chan mixer.....
...and a brain cell deficiency from the previous nights antics....

I tried to cross a few genres, but basically work through deep/techy techno/house & minimal then back into some harder techno.
Theres a lot of very new stuff, some stuff from 06/07 and some stuff from yesteryear thrown in for good measure.
I think it works, but as I said, opinions appreciated.

Theres plenty of ableton style 3 tracks-at-once looped madness, the whole mix is in key and its flawless beats wise (obviously, being ableton)...one or two mixes im not happy with but pretty good if i may say so myself.

I mixed those two particular songs because they were the two top songs of 2007 in a radio show I did at the end of last year.

Gets kinda melodic in the middle and builds back up to tougher electro/techno. Finishes off with an all time gem!!! Roughly about 131-134BPM the whole way through. Made on a set of CDJ800's and DJM600. Running time is 60 mins at 192KBPS.

Starts getting a bit tougher towards the last 5 tracks with a mixture of techno and electro and finishes off on a bit of a melodic tip to keep ya smiling!!

This mix was made with Pioneer CDJ 800's and DJM 600 mixer.

Hey all, here's a most recent mix by myself. There's a good selection of techno/electro/house/mashup kinda styles on it aswell as a couple of re-edits of my own. The set is pretty rockin from the start and slows down a small bit (not much!!) in the middle and coninues on to electro house'ish kinda stuff towards the end. I hadn't played that last track in years so dug it out to finish off with a stomper!!
