Lan Questions

    Hello,

    I just built a pc for a lan coming up from some spare parts lying around and I have a few questions.

    I got an error message while trying to patch to 1.5, along the lines of "no valid install of COD4" and "no valid key for COD4". Is this a common error? I'm going to delete and re-install tonight, but on a fresh copy of windows this is a bit odd on first install.

    When I go and play on the lan, will everybody be on the same level and unlocks or will it be the same as online? Because I currently play on the 360, so I'm lvl 1 at the moment.

    Did you install CoD4 in the original location? I think the patches look for the original location so if you installed it somewhere else it could be a problem...

    Everybody will be on their normal "online" level. That means you'll be on level 1 and they'll be on level 55 (or whatever)...
    The workaround is to play with the PAM 4 Mod. This will have everybody at the same level (level 1) and you can pick and choose which perks can be selected to make it fair for everyone.

    Its in the default location, the game itself works perfectly. No errors during install, no anti-virus to screw up things. Newest drivers and updates.

    Thats what I thought. Damm, will need to get some kills for the red dot on my favorite weapons. Besides the 50cal+p90 I won't miss much.

    I dunno if it was a typo but there is no patch 1.5 for CoD4. It's currently patched to 1.4.

    Thanks, turns out(stupidly) COD is patched to 1.5. So it seems I forgot to add the 4, which explains a lot. Pity I'm in work till late, could have racked up some good kills.

    Never even crossed my mind! And it should have seen I had the same problem a month ago! LOL :rolleyes:

    4 Games in and I'm lvl13, this is a bit too easy after moving from the 360.

    It'll slow down, don't worry... You need more and more XP points to get to the next level.
