:eek:ACOG sights are the Bees-Knees!!., between those and the eotecs there the best looking sights for armalites imo.,:).,
I like eotechs alright but the ACOGs just look too weird to me, i love a plain old Red dot sight or just iron sights

    Master of the Universe

Just got an email from an ebay seller telling me he won't be able to post my new L1A1 hand guards till Friday due to being tied up in work.

Argh! I was expecting them to ARRIVE on Friday. Was looking forward to that.

    :(

I've been waiting over a month for my scope from EbayBanned. Count yourself lucky you know why it's even late.

my ebaybanned order arrived in a few days, well until it got to customs and the bastids still havent replied to my email., :(

I don't even know where my scope is right now. I've given up asking for tracking numbers because An Post hasn't answered any question I've had about my previous two late orders with two seperate tracking numbers for things ordered at the same time. I called with all three numbers and asked why they hadn't delivered all three items at the same time, their reply was they weren't even aware that the first item had been delivered yet, let alone where in the world the other two were.

dex: what does your tracking number say on the hongkongpost website? has it even left hong kong yet?

You know those exploded diagrams of airsofts?
my M4 currently looks like that
It's just sitting there waiting for me to put it back together
but It's so difficult to hold the spring in and close the bloody thing!
That sounds slightly like the voice of experience talking...
It's like going to the beach, the sand gets everywhere!!:D
    Oh and NakedDex
    Welcome to the team:D

try using one of those thin screwdrivers through the hole at the back of the gearbox giz. you can hold the spring down through there. its the hole that the stock tube screw goes into., you can use your pinky to hold the cylinder in place while you lining it up too.,:)

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

err, why? bushings are your friend., :)

The ones in my civic need replacing, i'm gonna be seriously broke now getting them done! Bo**ox to it lol

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

oh, you mean car bushings.,lol, there pretty cheap to buy, then you can remove the part that its fitted to and take it to any local mechanics. they will be able to extract and install the new bushing in a few mins at very little cost., its when you bring in the whole car they'll charge ya more., :)
if you want to remove them yourself and dont ave a press you can use an old socket from a socket set and hammer the old one out easily enough.,

New honda bushings are 62 squid all round and the local mechanic said it's a pain to put them in and was charging 200 for doing it!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

you dont really need to change all of them, just the one thats worn., and there not that hard to do at all. a mechanic should be able to do on in a few mins,. we use whats like an upsidedown car jack with a platform on it, you put the piece on it and clamp it in between the platform and the "upsiddown lack" so that when you jack it the bearing or bushing in this case just pops out.,

I have to do them all to pass the NCT i was told, more money gone...Wouldn't mind but it sounds easy enough to sort out :(

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

nah you wont have to do them all,. sounds like hes trying to get more money out of ya., what bushing is gone? you could go to a breakers yard and buy the part that has the bushing in it and just swap them over., if its the control arm it should take mo more than 15mins and cost about 30squid.,

its apparently the town of emo lol wheres that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,641 ✭✭✭zero19

    I dislike Emos

Anyway the car has already failed the NCT on the bushings vtec, everything else was fine thank fack

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

do ya know which ones it was? could be as easy as replacing the lower control arm, there the common one to go and it would cost very little for a second hand part. theres also only about 3 bolts on it and is a pretty easy swap over., :)
unless you gonna go the whole hog with polyurathane bushings then i wouldnt bother gettting them all done.,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,641 ✭✭✭zero19

Nah polys are very hard aren't they? Yeah it says front and rear bushings failed... I dunno i should learn more about car mechanics lol

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 11,001 ✭✭✭✭Masada

it most likely would have said, "excessive play in front/rear" etc., its a bit unusuall that they'd all go around the same time., its not really a big job though mate, it might take ya a while if you've never done anything like it but for that quote the mechanic gave ya id sooner gouge me own eyes out with a speed loader., ;)
