I knit a fair bit, currently working on a green tunic jumper. Got nice thread at the knitting and stitching show in the RDS before Xmas but haven't used it yet!

If your based in Dublin, theres a stitch andf bitch club in Blackrock on Thurs eves in the wool shop.

Hi there, I knit. Done loadsa stuff over the years. At the moment Im making dolls. Knitted bodies and clothes. Ive just finished making 2 Goth dolls for my girls. No barbies for them, they cant stand her! I use a small latchhook to give them hair. Black hair, black clothes, embroidered tatoos. Got fed up making the usual stuff:)

Just standard wool, but i soak it in cat urine for a week to make it waterproof.

I use doubleknitting yarn, acrylic or wool, it dosent matter. I buy it in Hickeys in Henry St, Dublin. Its cheap and goes a long way. Look up Jean Greenhowe's site. She has some lovely doll patterns.

    They're trolling.

I used to be obsessed with knitting til I was about 13- all that Jean Greenhowe stuff, the dolls... loved making them, til I got a bit too old for it. I picked up some knitting needles on a whim recently and bought a Stitch n Bitch book to get me back into it. I've started a scarf, totally basic stuff but it's insanely addictive :)

In the Stitch n Bitch books there are some beautiful patterns but they use an american brand of wool called Lamb's pride. Does anyone know of any places to get this online (or a similar wool)? It looks like a really nice wool (80% wool, 20% mohair I think) and comes in lots of pretty colours. The few shops here seem to stock mainly acrylic which I'm not a huge fan of, and I'm still getting back into the whole knitting thing and I don't trust my judgement when it comes to substituting.

I like checking out what people have done on craftster.org as well. Good way of finding free patterns!
