    Hi,
I know that this is a strange request to put on here but after trying a good few photographers and getting nowhere I thought I may as well try here as well. Mods if this isn't ok, feel free to delete it.
I've had a Nikon D50 for the last year and a half and I really enjoy photography.
I was originally looking to have a week placement with a landscape photographer which is what was probably making it so hard, but I've basically given up on this now. Although I'd love to work with a landscape photographer I'm now looking more towards studio/portrait/wedding photographers etc.
I know most on here are just amateurs who enjoy photography as a hobby but I thought that maybe there might be a few professionals or maybe some other people might have some contacts, know of someone who might take me on, or any other ideas. It's a shot in the dark but I thought I may as well try.
Thanks for any replies in advance.

not sure where you are based , but if its dublin, say North Dublin , you could try Mark Nixon in Clontarf , he is the top wedding photographer , and i would think most people would accomadate you for a week, particularly if you know your stuff -- but i would say try and work with someone pretty good and well known, as its only a week , and you want to get a feal if you like it in a work sense -- good luck.

oh its Bray -- you could always get Dart

I remember a few years ago at a camera club meeting they had a photographer in for a talk, Mella Travers I think her name was. I remember being amazed by her images. She does alot of her own personal work, on medium format back then but shot commercially with a D1x back then (think the D2x was JUST out, if thats an indication of the time frame). As far as I remember she was based South Dublin direction which wouldn't be too far from you.

Her web address is http://www.mellatravers.com/ so she could be worth a try. She really knows what she wants to get and the impression I got from her is that she works hard and expects people around to her to work hard. She seemed like a really nice person with a good attitude but at the same time she wouldn't take sh!t from anyone where her work was concerned..
Good luck with the job hunting!

    Pete,
