I want to make a clock, so it could be hung on a wall. I'm looking for a simple battery powered mechanism, that I could easily tweak with.

Is there any place in Dublin where I could get it?

    Try maplin otherwise.

i used to work in maplin, so if you do try to get one there, you might have to pre order it, as they often dont keep much of a stock in that kind of stuff, usually 1 or 2, so to be on the safe side you might be best off calling them up first.

You could just get a cheap clock for a few euro and use the mechanism off that.

well that could cause reliability issues, especially if he wants to customise it, how do you want to?, so for that reason it might be better researching how to build one from scratch. I'm told its really tough, so should be interesting!
