Using the usb expolrer guitar on PS3?

can it be done? My friend brought over his explorer from the PC version of GH3, and we tried to use it in the PS3 as a second guitar hero controller, but we got the "unrecognized usb device" message... Anyone know how to make it work? and if not, where can i buy a second guitar

i dunno tbh with you but i plugged my wireless gh dongle into the pc last night and it worked and detected as a game controller and recognised by button pushes
