Hi.About to get wireless connection from net 1. Just wondering what do I need to set up a wireless network: Just a wireless router[ do I plug in the wire coming down from satilite?].

Looking for use connection for laptop, and online wii gaming. What price of router would I be looking at ?Ideally from local source-Harvey Normans, Argos or Pc World

Hi there,

A Linksys WRT54G would be a good choice. Komplett.ie sell them for €59 / PC World probably 80 odd.

The satellite modem connects from it's network socket into the Internet socket of the Linksys router or similar device. The router effectively shares the Internet coming from the satellite modem to multiple PCs/laptops/gaming consoles both via a cable and wifi.

There is of course a bit of configuration required for the router which will be outlined in the instructions.
