Yeah, seems to be pretty standard in my experience (well, as in what friends and relations have done - I have no siblings) in cases where the brothers get on well/are good mates.

It is not uncommon...
I was Groomsman for my two oldest brothers and Bestman for my elder brother...
It is obvious that he respects you enough to give you this important job..
