yea, the game has locked up on me a couple of times now...

I've just completed my second assassination, and im loving this game... I had a great killing spree in Acre since obtaining the combo move... I have mario galaxy for the wii here also, but theres no chance of me sacrificing my creed playing time for it

Yes, apparently the PS3 version of the game is suffering from lock-ups, which sucks major donkey balls. From posts made by Ubisoft on the official forum, it looks like it's something to do with the recent 2.0 firmware update. I've had my version freeze 4 times in the last two days. Not too bad, but annoying.

Two freeze-ups here. Seems to happen quite soon after a checkpoint though, so I haven't lost anything.

Great game, really enjoying it. Currently on the 3rd target. Rescuing the civilians is a good laugh, I generally end up bringing a whole load of guards down on me as well, particularly in Acre. Using counter moves I can handle about 10 or so. One of the criticisms of the game, that the enemies will attack 1 by 1... well, I'm actually finding that they'll alternately attack me, hit me from behind, throw me to each other. They seem to work as a group to me.

Best moment so far: Crazy leper guy pushes me over a bunch of times as I try to pass. So I get pissed, grab him and throw him back. He stumbles and falls against a scaffolding which promptly collapses on top of him. A cloud of dust, falling timber, screams. The dust fades and the freak is gone. I exit quickly. Oops.

Just had it lock up on me. My save data was corrupted and I have to start over :mad::mad: I was on memory block 4:mad:
As much as I love the game this has really pi**ed me off.

The eagle above one of the churches in Jerusalem froze on me - everything else is fine, but the eagle looks like it's just suspended in mid air.

I have 2.0 and mine hasn't frozen at all (touch wood) and i'm on memory block four

The game seems to be bugged to jiggery

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVZgkrL0CVo

(be sure to turn off the sound while watching the vid, music is terrible!)

It's too bad, I wanted to pick this game up but I think I'll hold off until this stuff is fixed.

Whoopsie, I've just been reading around various places, and it seems that you're actually meant to (or at least, are able to) do things in the "Present" setting as Desmond in between missions, like talk to the girl, read email files on the computers, pick-pocket a flash drive from the doctor and stuff. I haven't been doing any of this stuff. I've been behaving like a good boy and going to my bedroom when they told me to and just getting back on the animus. Next time I'm in the Present I'll have a good root around. Hope I haven't missed any major story explanation elements.

As of memory block 3 all I've done is talk to the girl until she told me to shut up and use a computer. The computer had her email on it with some snarky emails from her boss.

Just offed the executioner its beginning to get fairly repetitive now still pretty fun though

It's kind of go to Bureau, collect info, back to bureau, kill target, back to bureau then back to the master, hoping for a bit of a change up here soon

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,920 ✭✭✭AnCapaillMor

You don't have to go to the bureau when you first arrive, just after your investigations. Just did the 7th kill in damascus, bloody hell it really jumped up a level after the 6th assasination, very easily detected and there's no fighting the guards off they keep coming, i killed 20+ before i ran off and tried to hide at my first save the citizen attempt.

I'd about 30 guys chasing me after the 7th assasination, and next thing i know theres 2 bloody templars that i someohow managed to piss off as well. Saving the citizen is a must vigilantes really come in handy.

Its easy to fight off all the guards though. I mean I've fought about 20-30 or them and just had a pile of bodies everywhere no problem. Your health recharges so you just sit around and wait for them to attack and counter if they do attack and push them if they grab you.

Its easy enough. I found it difficult to loose the guards on later levels and on the last assasination, vigilantes were a must and not only because its funny to watch them hold guards back.

The game is pretty good but it has problems. The camera is annoying when it locks itself to something I know is happening but I'm trying to go somewhere else. I don't know how they didn't work out this was annoying in testing.

Graphics are superb, draw distance isn't on 360. It does get a bit reptitive near the end but I still climbed every tower and did all the information finding missions and saved all the citizens and collected any flags I ran into, didn't go looking for them though.

It is a long enough game. I started yesterday evening and only finished today around 20:00 but it could be done quicker if you skipped half the stuff you don't have to do.

    Few questions about the game.

    1. what the hell are you supposed to do? I was told to go to Damascus, so I went off towards it, but when i get to the road leading to Damascus, there is a big blue wall in front of it and it says I can not access this memory yet. There do not appear to be any objectives to do. Had a poke around a little village on the way, but there didn't seem to be anything to interact with (bar the two templars I offed and a few viewpoints)

    2. Are the guards supposed to be permently sus of you? They attack me whenever they see me, no matter what. Walking into a new area, walk past a guard and BANG, have 4 of them after me trying to take the head from my body..... WHY?? Do you HAVE to blend every single time you are within sight of a guard?

    1. Did you scale the tower at the encampment along the way?

    1) Are you 100% sure you're heading in the right direction for Damascus and not one of the other two cities? They'll be blocked off with the memory wall for the time being but the route to Damascus definitely should not be. Climbing a view point shouldn't have any bearing on if the way is blocked or not.

    2) As you haven't reached Damascus yet, I assume you're talking about the guards in the villages and countryside? If so, then yes, even if you walk the horse at a normal pace in low profile they will often come after you. You either need to blend each time you pass them, or go high profile and gallop past. If you gallop past you may get past quick enough that they're not triggered, or if they are triggered, you'll outrun them. I just often gallop all over the Kingdom with a trail of soldiers following me. When you reach the cities they vanish. When you're in the cities you don't have the horse, and its the horse that makes the countryside guards more suspicious of you. The one's in the cities aren't as jumpy. Well, until you lose your temper and go stabbity stabbity with the beggars and drunks.

Cool - i'm almost certain i am on the right road to damascus - the icon for maascus is very close tot he area I can not see behind the memory wall, and the signpost beside it seems to point towards it too. There is another road, leading in semmingly the wrong direction that I can try, so I might give that a go when I have a chance too.

For people getting the freezes, I read somewhere that it only happens when you're logged into the PSN, so if you log out before playing it doesn't freeze. I haven't tried it myself yet.

I'd check out an FAQ and see if you have completed every thing the story asks of you up to that point.

Nope, not connected any of the times. Funny thing is always happens to me on the 1st time i turn on the ps3, once i restart i can play for hours without incident.

anyway what do you get for collecting all the flags?

Did you find a stone marker pointing to Damascus in one direction and Jerusalem in the other direction? If you haven't done it already, Using the marker for Damascus on the map may help.

Find a viewpoint on the map (icon of an eagle), climb it, then press Y to synchronize which will update the map with objectives. If it's a later visit to Damascus (or any city) the first viewpoint may not be on the map and you'll just have to look for it the old fashioned way.

Around Memory Block 5 enemy characters become a lot more... reactionary. By the time you're heading to Arsuf it's just plain irritating.

Ho hum. It's still bugged. But it's a new one. The "fast forwarding memory" screen freezes but I can hear the game running in the background!
