what config file is this in or what is it called so I can search for it ?

is there a rollback in ubuntu that I can get into from the command prompt or how should I backup/restore system settings for the next time ?

Can you give any more details here? ;)

Specifically, can you remember which logon options you were looking at? What's looking for a server when?
