What would be a good idea for a weekend for a 50's aged Dublin married couple? It's his birthday. I was thinking of a Golf weekend that would also have Dinner, hotel etc. Has anyone any ideas?

Have you had a look at the Blue Book hotels. http://www.irelands-blue-book.ie/

They have some fantastic hotels, most of which are stately homes, some of which have golf courses attached. Nearly all of them have some sort of fabulous restaurant and if you're lucky at this time of year they may have a special offer running.

I've personally stayed at Grogan's Castle in the Burren, Ballymaloe and Coopershill House in Sligo, all of which were fantastic.

Yes i would say so. Long weekends are always good for married couples because they usually have an extra day off work and that means they can spend more ''quality time'' together iykwim.
