Did anyone try their SecondLife customer service yet? I did and it was weird...24 hour service I think. Not any more help than the people I talked to on the phone though :( No record of my money even though my bank says they can see it in their account!

They emailed back asking for a receipt. I had to ask them what they meant as it was an electronic transfer. Still waiting on a reply about that. Also asked about what name I should use when doing an IBAN transfer.

The more I read here the more I'm starting to think the problems are all from going via BOI. Wirecard's support can be slow and at times can make you feel like you're going around in circles, but I really don't want to go back to 3V so I'll stick it out. All going well, once I figure out the IBAN process I think it should be smooth sailing from there on.

Are you doing the IBAN using internet banking or are you going into a bank and doing from there?

fact is if they advertise local accounts they should operate local accounts. I lodged about 10 times using local boi. funds there next evening then this mess occurs and i feel they could'nt care less. 3v is crap but at least you get the card there and then.

on the subject of 3v i had a good laugh a few weeks ago. had one with €11.47 left and had a few quid in wirecard so decided to use the 3v to top up wirecard. set it up and chose €11.47.declined.€11.46.declined.€11.20.declined.€11.00.declined.€10.97.accepted.
50 cents left on the 3v.might as well charge €5.50

Has anyone used wirecard to book airline tickets yet? What's the story with check in once you get to the airport? Do you need a physical card for this I wonder?

Why would they need to see the physical card? They've been paid.

I'm not sure, I haven't booked ryanair before but I though there was a fast check in where you just present your creditcard and they let you through or something?

    No such animal cormie. :(

You can print off your boarding pass at home and pay for priority boarding but that is it.

Never heard of it, but then, it's 11:55 now and the last time I checked Ryanair's T&C was 11:50 so.............

With ryanair you dont need to present a credit card at check in once your tickets have been already been paid online. All you need is the reservation thing that you print out online when you booked your flights.:)

I still didn't get an email back so I phoned them earlier. Forwarded on some screenshots as requested so we'll see how it works out. The girl on the phone didn't know what could have gone wrong either so the screenshots are just to help confirm both accounts.

Interestingly, when I explained that it was holding me up because I was sending the money in two transfers to avoid the €300-a-week limit, she said that didn't apply. Apparently that only covers deposits made by credit card. Wire/bank transfers can be up to €2500 (coincidentally, the maximum for a limited account). In my follow-up email I've asked for confirmation of this just in case one of us misinterpreted things, but it's a nice development if it turns out to be true. Pity they never tell us about these things...

I'm never using them again. They "lost" my money so they can't be trusted....I'm counting my blessings it was only a fiver!

They have blocked accounts for transfering over €300 a week by bank transfer before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 83 ✭✭Protocol7

I'm not giving up yet. 3V's €350 limit means I wouldn't be able to use them to buy my monitor. And I do believe that these problems are all down to BOI and that local account. Unless someone can tell me of a failed IBAN transfer.

Yep I know that. That's why I've asked for more confirmation. They may have changed this since. IIRC they also never updated the fees page when they stopped charging for purchases made.

Hmmm. I don't know if this has anything to do with me emailing them but On Wednesday I transferred €300 to my wirecard account, AIB said it should be there by Thursday evening. Yesterday (Monday) there was still no sign so I sent them an email saying I was worried because I read stories here of money going missing etc. I got an email they sent at 9:07 saying they will deposit the money into my account in the next 48 hours, I checked my account at 9:45 and it was there:)

So I'm not sure if my email had anything to do with it or if it was all automatic and just a coincidental timing because I checked at about 8 this morning and it wasn't there!

Did you use IBAN via AIB?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,854 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Yup, used the "international money transfer" on the online banking menu. I've also asked them what my remaining limit is now and if I can make a one off transfer for that value with wire transfer or will my account be locked since it will be over €300. The international money transfer link IS wire transfer, right? Using the IBAN etc... ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,472 ✭✭✭✭Our man in Havana

Correct. The money is normally in your account the day after the value date given to you by aib.

Yeah, which was the case for the first three transfers I did, but not this time. Will report back when I get a reply from them anyway.

I transferred 300 from credit card last night and aib online I transferred 250 with the 12.70 fee. Will my balance show up as 550 today or will they limit my account to 300. What happens to the 250 if it doesn't go in. Also if it doesn't go in because of limit, then it's bit pointless paying 12.70 fee.

I put in 300 euro with my credit card and when I checked my wirecard virtual card it showed me my card number, expiry date but nothing appeard for cvc2 code. I rang and they said it might take 2 days. Is this correct?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 685 ✭✭✭jackbauer

still no sign of my money or contact from wirecard. Paul Savory Ax is right.its based on trust and they cant be trusted. boi have sent me written confirmation of the transfer so its all them.

Same here! I still haven't heard back from them about this mess after multiple emails. GRR! Very frustrated.

I'd ring up and create a fuss but I only lodged a fiver so I feel its not worth the grief. I've been giving their rep on second life a bit of a ear bashing though and she has promised to deal with it "personally". I still feel silly though for so little an amount.

It's a shame cos it was really good :(

yes great idea and i loved it but in typical modern day fashion something had to go wrong.

    I have to say I haven't experienced any problems with Wirecard, maybe I'm just lucky. A visit to;

    I registered yesterday evening.

When registering now you need to provide your mobile phone number.

They then send you a text with an activation code.
