My gran aunt maura once made, now don't get squemish, a mackerel pie that was just divine. She obviously gutted them first, took the heads off and baked them with carrots. She then placed these into a gorgeous dough and baked it for half an hour, it was beautiful with one of her sweet steaming mugs of coffee
