oil-barrel glass cutter_clogged_oil won't flow

howdy, i use a glass cutter w/ a swivel head and an oil barrel. the oil in the barrel no longer flows to the wheel. i think it's clogged and i can't unclog it. i've tried filling the barrel w/ alcohol to clear it out, but that only worked a little then it clogged again a few days later.
is this common? what's the best way to keep the oil flowin?

I am new at glass work, but here are my suggestions:
Silly point but do you loosen the metal cap to let air in when using it? If its on full seal lack of air will create a vacuum and slow or stop the oil flow.

I would first check the type of oil you are using, (I use J&J baby oil). Glass that you are cutting should be clean, I always wipe the glass down after I have stored it for a while.
Check to make sure that there is not a very small shard of glass caught between the wheel and barrel.
You should try empty the barrel /reserve and refill with clean oil. Then leave it standing (head downward) in a very small pool of oil/sponge soaked jam jar when you are not using it this should stop the oil which remains on the wheel collecting dirt.
If all else fails and the wheel is still good you can just dip the wheel every time before you cut.

thanks for the suggestions. the wheel works fine, no glass stuck in there. the head swivels ok too, but sometimes the head does get a little jammed.

i'll try loosening the cap to let some air in, maybe that will help it flow.

right now, i just dip the tip for every cut, but that's the whole reason why i got the barrel-feeder, so i don't have to dip every cut.

i use the correct oil, don't recall the brand, but it's made for these barrels.

i'll check those websites too.

thanks again, i'm hoping the vacuum thing is the solution.
