Connecting a SNES

Hi, Is anybody having problems connecting old consoles (SNES) to new TV's? I'm trying to connect my SNES to a Phillips flat screen and nothing is coming up. I've tried using the RF cable provided (plugging directly from snes into my TV) and using the multi connector from my PS2 (although I wasn't surprised this didn't work) and I can't get picture or sound.

Any help would be appreciated tks

With the RF connector you will have to create a new station on your TV and manually tune it until you get a picture.

The picture quality from an RF output is truly disgraceful, you should get a Gamecube scart cable and modify it to work with a SNES, thats the best picture quality available for a SNES. The modification is really easy, I did it myself.

Here's how to do the mod:

Note a Wii scart cable won't work with the SNES.

Yup, RF sucks, glad I had a couple of N64 cables lying about!
Is there a place online where I can find mods for my other consoles?
I'd love to use scart with my Megadrive.

I did try to manually tune a station but Im having no luck whatsoever - even getting a picture (disgraceful or not) would be great

That might actually be a problem with the video output then. I'd check that out before you go buying a scart cable.

    @Ciderman

That www.mmmonkey.co.uk site is really the best place for console mods. If it isn't there then you probably can't get scart on the Megadrive.

Not sure if there's some hidden sarcasm going on there, but just buy a Megadrive RGB scart cable....?

Taken in by a zombie thread, goodness, you must be tired!

Here, there's probably a thread around discussing the upcoming launch of the Wii, I'm sure they'd appreciate your input!

Hey, sometimes I lament that 1991 was a mere 22 years ago, the fun I had.... well, it wouldn't be becoming of a mod to discuss such things....
    Mwa hahahaha!
    Great music though,
    Public Enemy,
    De La Soul,
at least on my Hifi anyways
