engagement rings in new york - advice needned

my self and my girlfriend are heading to new york in a few weeks time, the plan is to buy and engagement ring as we are there, only issue is that we have no idea of where to go or what to get. if anybody has any advice on where to go or indeed on the ring it self we would appreciate it? :) ted and betty

There are so many jewellers in NY in the diamond district you will be so confused!!!! I bought engagement ring there and thank god someone gave me a business card for who and where to go.
Its called salvatore (spelliing??), if i can find the card ill let u know address..
Its like a big huge shop and little stalls in there, u pick out ur ring and they made it or size it down in cellar.
All(most) aer lingus staff go here so u can trust them as if they mess up they lose a lot of business...
