    Evening,

Am best man at wedding in about 2 weeks.

As normal and being a guest i will be buying the couple a gift for their big day -- Ideas needed for this, am thinking a nice Weber BBQ but not sure.

Also what is the protocol in relation to buying a "Thank You" gift from me to the Groom...is it done or not done???? Ideas Also!!

    Help needed and appreciated.

I was best man for my brother a few years ago so I gave them a generous (or as generous as I could at 17...) monetary gift. A gift for the two of them is probably enough, but it might be nice to get something meaningful for the groom.

Best of luck with the speech ;).

I got married a month ago and didnt get anything special from my best man, although I bought him and all the groomsmen a little gift as a thank you.
You are doing him a favour by being his best man, dont see why you'd give him a gift, other way round in my opnion.

Absolutely - the best man has a lot to do (didn't realise how much till I saw my best man running around all night), that's why the groom buys him a gift.

You're right, just meant that you don't give another "Thank You" present
