I was there before the handover.

I included Canaries (Lanzarote) because it is a damn long way from the country I was residing in, and I count it as part of my travels :P

To all the folks splitting up England, N.Ireland, Wales etc.....that's cheating. They're all the one place, UK.

I also happen to think that it's cheating if you spent less than 24 hours there (as in if you had a stopover there and only saw the airport).

    Now for me:
    1. Ireland
    2. UK (England, Wales, Scotland, N.Ireland - all of them)
    3. France
    4. Belgium
    5. Holland
    6. Italy
    7. Vatican
    8. America
    9. Canada
    10. Greece
    11. Spain
    12. Azores (technically Spain but I'll call it separately cos they're so far apart)
    13. Lebanon
    14. Germany
    15. Hungary
    16. Bosnia & Herzegovina
    17. Portugal
    18. Croatia

i don't think you have to spend > 24 hours in a place to consider having visited it :D That means i haven't visited a ton of places in Ireland so such as Belfast, Sligo, Ballina, Mullingar, Bray, Longford, Ennis, Tralee, Waterford, Tullamore, Enniskillen, Omagh, Letterkenny etc because i was in those towns for less than 24 hours at a time.

I do agree though that stop-over countries should be marked with an ** because technically you didn't get to see the country

They are actually part of Portugal but I agree that they should be listed separatly as they are so far apart.

    Mine:
    1.Ireland
    2.England
    3.France
    4.Malta
    5.Portugal
    6.Spain
    7.Majorca
    8.Italy
    9.Cyprus
    10.America
    11.Netherlands
    12.Sweden

Not that many countries so far but I hope to rectify that with a trip on the Orient Express next year. My favorite countries to visit were Sweden (even though it was a work trip), Italy and France.

It all depends on if you are using the definition of countries as understood by the UN, Fifa or the Olympics etc who all have different lists, especially for "these islands". Actually using the Commonwealth separation would give you even more to choose from by adding the likes of Gurnesy and Jersey as well.
