Common sense here. Use the details you supplied Wirecard when you registered. Are the looking for a statement from you?

I don't think I ever gave an address? Looking at "my profile" there is no address there either it's just:

    Language and Region
    Change

    Country of Residence Ireland

    Nationality Ireland

    Language English
    Address
    Personal Details

    Salutation Mr

    First Name Cormac

    Nothing under address heading:confused:

Just give dabs your address anyway I don't think they have any way to check...

Dabs can be funny sometimes with foreign cards. They may be wondering why someone in Ireland is using a German CC.

Put an order in on dabs.ie last night with wirecard but just got an email saying that they can't process it without my address and phone number that appears on my CC statement... ehhh? Anyone know what address and phone number to use for a virtual card? :)

Please let us know how you get on...I was planning on buying a HDD from them.

After all the negative comments I just wanted to say that I lodged money just before 4pm on Friday the 27th and it showed up today Monday 30th. That's really good service and its at least another €4 saved over 3V (I don't need to pay any of this €2.50 voucher redemption lark as with 3V so thats €6.50 saved). Even though my bank lost one lodgment for a while I still believe Wirecard is great.

By the way I used the local Dublin account to deposit the money. Its therefore not closed guys.

    What happened there?

I screwed up sending my first payment to Wirecard. In my eagerness I forgot to put my wirecard account number in the recipients statement field (realised this minutes later but it was already too late). It's been over 3 weeks now and not even God himself can convince Wirecard that the transaction went through and that the money is languishing in their Dublin account.

I can't huff and puff too much about it because it's my own fault for not doing the transfer properly but both AIB and BOI have confirmed that it went through and still Wirecard won't acknowledge this and credit it to my account. Makes we wary of trusting them with larger sums in the future. Their problem resolution is the pits.

I'v been using wirecard for a few months now and have made many transactions with it and found it to be great! It was a bit of hassle getting a money transfer set up to the dublin account with the right reference no. etc, as at first I wasn't sure what to do... But once it was all set up it has worked out fine, I can log on to BOI 365 and transfer money straight to Wirecard and have it lodged in a day or two.

    Great thread. :D
I think i'll definitely be switching from 3v to wirecard soon.

Anyway i've just a couple of queries someone might answer..
I'm with AIB internet banking. I gather i have the choice of transfering money to the local Dublin BOI account or directly to the account in Germany.
Which one is preferable in your opinion?

Transferring to the Dublin account you need the reference number which apparently bank officials sometimes ignore (idiots) possibly leading to problems in transfer :(
Would I be better off just transferring funds straight to the German account cutting out this fuss. You just need the account details no ref. number right? Not much can go wrong apparently.
Any downsides to this at all?.

And with aib phone or internet banking these international bank transfers are free aren't they?

The other thing worrying me though is the freezing of your funds if you exceed those weekly limits- don't like having a few grand in an account frozen overseas TBH. I hope it's easy to unfreeze without too much red-tape in the event.
Lads are ye positive about the figures for those weekly/yearly deposit limits? And i'm guessing it doesn't work the other way- ie you can spend/withdraw as much as you like (over 300 euro) over a weekly period without funds being frozen.

Also it's a shame about not been able to stock up on multiple 25 euro 3v vouchers to fund it. Seemed a good idea. Really thought that might work (apart of course from the funny stares from the shop-assistant after buying a fistful of 3v vouchers).

Lastly what details do they require from you to register?
I'm guessing you don't have to give your own bank account details to register right? So there's no chance anyone will be fiddling with my own bank account ?

    Sorry for all the questions.
    Any advice much appreciated.
    Thanks.

yup, but if you transfer 300, you'll have 299 in your wirecard acc, their charge

best not to find out, I transferred 300 and 300 with a 7 day gap, no problem, don't want to find out the hard way.

nope, don't think you have to give your own bank details, but I forget, 90% sure you don't, but sure it's mastercard, if they messed around with bank accounts and word got out, it would be verrryyyy bad for them. They wont;)

    Sorry for all the questions.

    Thanks mate.
So you can spend/withdraw as much as you want over a weekly period without it being frozen can you?

ie can you take out 600 euro in one go after slowly building up your funds over a period of a few weeks (with deposits of less than 300 a week of course)and not have the account frozen.

I don't think so:confused: If you want to apply for the limitless account do this:

    (from an email I got):
Thank you for contacting the Wirecard Service Team.

Please find attached the necessary documents for a limit increase for your
Wirecard account. Please print, fill out and sign the documents before sending

them together with two utility bills showing your street address via mail to:

    Wirecard Bank AG
    Wirecard
    Postfach 31 05 44
    04163 Leipzig
    Germany.

Additionally you will need to send a verified/notarized copy of your passport
(or any other government issued picture ID) together with your account
    application.
The verification/ notarization should be conducted by a public institution
(e.g. consulate/embassy, police department) or by a bank.

Please note that the Terms of Service are for your private folders and need
not be sent back to us.

Please be also informed that you will be able to register a street address as
soon as you provide a payment method in your Wirecard account.

Should you have further questions about the information given above, please
reply directly to this email, including our original text and ticket number.
This will help us to deal with your inquiry much faster.

    Nice one.
    Thanks. :)

Edit: Sorry I should've been clearer about my spending/withdrawing query.

What I meant was you can spend up to whatever you have in your account in one go without having to verify right?(even if the transaction is over 300 euro)

ie it's only the deposits you have to keep under 300 euro a week not the transactions you make with the money?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,854 ✭✭✭✭cormie

ah:) yeah, as far as I know, I spent over 300 Euro myself in one go the other day;)

Also be aware of the 2500 limit that is clocking up.

What's this a limit on again? Can you only deposit 2500 before having to get the verified account or is it a per month spending limit or something?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,472 ✭✭✭✭Our man in Havana

It is the total deposit limit before needing to verify. Once the sum total of your deposits reaches this they block your account.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,854 ✭✭✭✭cormie

Ah jaysus, I'll have to sort out that verification soon then, don't need it yet but don't want to have to go through all the hassle if I ever do. Sigh... effort:o

Does anyone use the AIB online transfer? I'm trying to get set it up but I don't know exactly what to do.
I have the code card already. It's asking me to add an account on the transfers page. Do I have to add an account? It's asking for a NSC so is there one for Wirecard or do I have to do something else entirely?

Use the one-off transfer facility instead.

    Don't add an account.

Is there any reason not to add an account? Just wondering as I did.

The NSC is the national sort code for Wirecard's BOI account. It's 900703. And their account no is 77073371. Whatever you do do not forget to put your wirecard account number in the recipient's statement field. In my eagerness to try it out after getting my codecard I made this mistake and it took almost six weeks of to-ing and fro-ing to eventually get the funds in my wirecard account. But at least it was a happy ending and a lesson well learned.

Reply from Wirecard about the physical card:

Thank you for contacting the Wirecard Service Team.

We would like to inform you that we currently only offer the classic Mastercard in the following countries:

    Germany
    Poland
    The Netherlands
    USA
    Austria

However, it is planned to introduce a standard physical MasterCard in selected European countries within a short period of time.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide you with an exact date when we will issue the physical MasterCard for Irish customers.
We kindly like to ask you for patience.

This will, beyond the possibilities of ordering online and at mail order companies, enable you to purchase at over 24 million stationary merchants that accept MasterCard, and allow you to withdraw cash from approximately one million automated teller machines (ATMs) worldwide.

It will be possible to request the physical card online via your Wirecard account under the option “MY MASTERCARD”. There is a yearly fee of EUR 24.90 for your card and a shipping fee of EUR 5.00. Should you have further questions about the information given above, please reply directly to this email, including our original text and ticket number.

This will help us to deal with your inquiry much faster.

Cool, I should really sort it out myself!

Seems to be working good now. I sent some more money across on Wednesday via AIB Online and it was there Monday morning. Ordered a few things and all seems to be going smooth.

Only thing I don't like is there is no online statement showing your transactions. It shows me how much has been reserved and that's it. With 3V you could see the amount reserved and by whom. Also it means you can't use this to become a verified Paypal user as their verification code shows up on your statement when they charge you. With 3V you would have seen this when you logged in, but not with Wirecard.

But then 3V had it's disadvantages too so it's six of one and a half dozen of the other really. The Paypal thing isn't a big deal but I would like to be able to see exactly how my funds are being used. For security if nothing else.

I got my Paypal Verified with my wirecard :/ took a day to show up but it did, just make sure you show all instead of Since Last Login (In My Account). Mine showed up as this.

X/XX/07 Card Payment PP *XXXX EXPUSE X/XX/07 1.50 EUR

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,472 ✭✭✭✭Our man in Havana

Not a bother with it. I did the €1.50 verification charge and now I am verified. :D

I see. So I guess it only shows up once a charge has been made (and not just reserved). There's nothing on my account, but then the "charged" field after both of my transfers is blank, even though one order I placed with it has already been processed and shipped since early yesterday. Guess it must take a couple of days to show up on your account. Was used to everything being instant on 3V. Would also explain why my balance still shows the full amount I transferred.

I added my card to another paypal account and AFAIK I never had to verify anything. It just charged it to the card no probs.

You don't have to be verified to use Paypal. I've used it a few times in the past with my 3V vouchers. You just get some extra benefits if you are verified, but I don't think any really apply if you just use paypal to pay for auction or other items. It's more geared towards sellers I think.
