I am hoping to get married in 2009 and would love to have a small intimate dinner with just our closest family and friends. Any advice would be welcome in relation to venue, entertainment etc. I am currently looking at either a hotel or a restaurant.

We found Rollys in Ballsbridge to be brilliant.

Went to a wedding with about 30/40 people in The Stationhouse Hotel in Kilmessan in Meath. It was beautiful. Check out their website. Id highly reccommend!!!

We had a small intimate wedding in the Radisson, Stillorgan (60 peeps). They were so fantastic I can't tell you. And the photographs came out so well with the beautiful gardens in the background.

But, if you're party's 50 or less, I would highly recommend Beaufield Mews in Stillorgan. Only we had too many I would have loved it there. They were so nice to deal with, so professional. My hubby ended up having his 30th B-day there as a consolation for not being able to hold the wedding there.

I'm going to a friends wedding there in December. I know the bride really liked the place and they've been there a few times to try food.

My sister in law rented a castle - a small one - just outside Loughrea.

There were about 60 people there.
It was during the winter and the lady had a big roaring fire going in the low ceiling room. External food supplier and a barman were available.

There was only 4 rooms in the castle, and because of our nipper :D , we had to get one of the rooms, which had a fire going when we went to bed.

    great weekend and wedding

    just another idea.
