Changing wiper blades on Yaris

    My sister had her wiper bent off by scumbags after parking it in town over night. Was replacing the arm today but the old rubber blades need to be put on the new arm. Anyone know how to do it?

    By the rubber blades, do you mean the metal arms with the rubber blade along them, or just the rubber strips? If you mean the complete blade (ie with metal arm),you pull back the wipers and turn the blades so they're at right angles to the arms (Like a 'T') There's a plastic clip holding the blade to the arm, you squeeze a bit on the bottom of it and then slide the blade down along the arm until it comes free. The new one goes on the same way, until it clicks into place. This is assuming the wipers on the Yaris are the 'standard' design.:)

    yep, that's correct Anan1. just ensure you position the wiper arm crrectly.

    Yes I mean the complete blade with the metal arm but they don't seem to be the standard type. I checked it against my car which as you said can simply be changed by pinching the clips and sliding it down. On the Yaris there doesn't seem to be any play in the connection from any angle.

    Its a 99 so maybe someone with a similar year corolla or otherwise might have some insight...

    you need to turn the blade 90 degrees from the wiper arm or it won't work. some force will be required, easier with the arm attached to the car. that's usually the way they work on a Yaris. Post a pic if you can

    It actually just slips off. There's no clips - embarrassingly easy.
