    Hi guys,

I'm thinking of replacing the in-ear earphones that came with my iPod and was hoping you'd have some suggestions on which ones to get.

I've up to €100 to spend on them, anything more is a bit much in my book! I've been told that Bose do a set that are excellent but I'm not sure.

    Any help would be great!

    -Bobby

I'm not too sure about headphones but I know loads of people who strongly recommend Sennheiser headphones, I think I'm gonna get myself a pair!

not sure about bose headphones but if they are like any of their other products you are paying for the name.

also have a look at the shure range, they can be got on ebay for under 100 euro.

Bose and Sennheisers tend to top the market but there's no real point in spending that cash on your mp3 player unless you seriously crank up the quality of your uploaded mp3s. I got a low end pair of sennheisers (bout €25) and if you turn them up too high you can hear hiss on most of the songs.

Bose are a big steaming pile of sh1te, absolute waste of money, spend 30 euro and i guarantee you have a better sounding headphone than 100 euro bose.

As said have look at the shure range or the westone range, ebay is your best bet.

Pick yourself up a pair from the Shure range.
They come with a two year warranty.
(I'd avoid e-bay as you'll have difficulty with
    any returns under warranty)

Mobilefun are almost as cheap as e-bay and
you'll get a proper invoice and warranty.

i depends what type of headphones you're looking for tbh, Cans or IEM's.

I prefer cans myself and right now I'm using AKG K81's, very nice phones, before that I used Sennheiser PX100's and AKG K26p's

Audio Technica, you're going to have to find a speciallist importer to be able to get them though

Its actually a personal choice and what you hear as being quality will be another persons annoyance. I've been through Shure E4Cs and found them terrible, despite all the glorious reviews, and testing every piece of ear plug. Moved to a set of Bose Triports and I've never looked back. They are excellent. But I wouldn't tell another person to rush out and buy them, rather, get yourself a good location and demo them in person.

OP, good luck with your search, I've no doubt that you'll have a better experience with new headphones over your current ones.

Please dont buy Bose....... "better profits through marketing"

you can buy loads of cheaper IEM's that will sounds about twice as good at half the price.......

I'm not a huge user of IEM's but do a check on here and see whats the current favs...http://www.head-fi.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=2

I have a set of Shures and they are great and also a set of CX300's.. I'm about to buy a set of V-Moda Vibes for my wife but havn't tried them yet... about to start another thread on it...

Don't be fooled by the bose marketing that's all.

After farting about with various headphones over the years I decided to go for Sennheiser earlier this year.

Paid about 25/30 quid for the lanyard type. First pair lasted about 2 months before the right one stopped working. I bought another pair of them after a while as I really liked the design and length (I fupping hate when earphones fall out or strain at the ear because the cord is too long).

Second pair lasted about 2 months before the connector by the jack started to come out. I don't think it had been strained excessively.

Now to be fair they do offer a 2 year warranty which I believe would cover the first scenario but probably not the second. But I won't be buying Sennheiser again.

Incidentally, I'd say my ipod earphones lasted no more than a few weeks before they started to buzz in one earpiece.

Well I'm using Sennheiser HD280's at the moment and they are stunning. Easily the best headphones I've used. They are massive though and you can look like a plank walking around, but the quality, oohhh the quality is worth the funny looks.

In reference to Bose, and in agreement with another OP, have a listen to them if you can before you take anyone's advice. I've used their over ear's and found them disappointing, but their in-ear Triport's are excellent.
