You can no longer transfer money to wirecard accounts via the Bank of Ireland account. It has been closed for some time along with the other international accounts AFAIK, so now you have to use the International transfer. I was unlucky enough to transfer money the day they closed the account, and now it seems my money is in banking limbo...still waiting from responses for the 3 banks involved.

Wirecard still have the accounts listed on their site though....and they don't seem to have told anyone about the change.

    How do you know this?

I transferred money to the BOI account and it was never creditted, so I emailed customer service and they told me. It's a shocking lapse in customer relations on their part. I'm sure they'll verify it if you make contact with them.

If true it is shocking that they have not ammended their website.

Ok wellI can't explain that but I'm looking at two emails from customer service right here saying that the accounts have been closed..

They seem to have got rid of a rake of local accounts. Their site makes reference to 21 local country accounts, then on the same page there is a reference to 20. I clicked through to the pdf and there are now 10 listed. Dublin is still there.

Perhaps the customer service drone assumed Dublin was gone, but isn't? But then why did your money go missing? Did they say what day the accounts were closed?

Either way I will deposit directly into my own Wirecard account in future using IBAN. It should cost the same as sending money to the Dublin account because it is a another Eurozone bank.

    Edit: Pdf link

They said the account was closed on the 9th of July, which was the day I transferred the money.

I have just received an email from them saying they have no record of ever receiving the money. The whole thing is a bit of a mess

Is it normal practice not to hear anything after submitting the transfer from AIB to Wirecard direct? The money has been taken from my AIB account but nothing in my wirecard account yet and no email or anything to say anything is pending. It's €300 so I don't want to run into any problems:(

Also, after the first transfer, will it always take this long or is there any way to make it instant in future (besides Credit Card of course;))?

Does anyone know a bit more about getting the physical "plastic" card in Ireland? Is it definitely not possible for us to get it?

You will not be able to get a plastic card unless you set up an account with 1. A German address and 2. A german mobile number.

As for delays, It just took me 6 days for an IBAN transfer to hit my wirecard account.

That's a pity about the plastic card:( Wonder will it change in time to allow everyone else have one?

6 days? :( Hope I'm not waiting that long too! Dang! Do you know if it takes the same length with each transfer or does it speed up after the first? It says something about subsequent transfers being immediate or something (or maybe I'm imagining things?)

Did you put it in electronically or through a branch with cash?

I think they're lying to you about the account closure.

Nope, each transfer takes roughly the same time. I have no idea why this one took 6 days, normally it is there within 48 to 72 hours. Also note that AIB and the other banks only process IBANs between 0800 to 1600 Mon-Fri so if you sent money at night/weekend this will need to be factored in.

Anytime I paid for an urgent transfer (€12.70 fee) the money was in my account in under 12 hours.

I put it electronically on-line. I have checked and double checked all the details and I've been in contact with Rabo to make sure the transfer has gone through and they say it has.

Wirecard could well be lying, but it would beg the question why? Unless they're just out to steal from their customers.

Ok cool, 12.70 isn't too much if you really need it I suppose. Bond have you sent away your ID to get a limitless account? Is it truly limitless? You just need to send your passport scan and utility bill through email is it?

I haven't bothered yet as I only use it occasionally to buy stuff online. AFAIK you need certified copies of a passport etc but I think they need to be snail mailed to Berlin.

If you don't have a CC or debit card there will soon be a new option called usecash.
They're an irish company (wish I thought of it) and they have linked up with aphyra who also operate the 3V network. Basically when you purchase an item on an internet site that allows usecash option you print off the order and go to your local pay point (150,000 in europe - basically any store that allows phone top ups) hand in the printed page with your payment and thats it. No additional fees or charges.

Its being launched in Ireland in September and then UK by end of year and Europe for 2008. - Should make life easier for many buyers.

Yeah I don't need it yet either but it'll be typical to need it some day and then I'll have to wait 2/3 weeks to get it sorted, so I might just get that out of the way now if I can:) What do you mean certified copies?

Mcaul, that sounds good and bad, what happens if the buyer never brings the printed receipt and doesn't pay? Thousands of cancelled orders? Or is there a way around it? Are you going to be setting it up on your site? I doubt it could be used as universally as a CC payment option though? For flights, concert tickets and other "hot products" that need instant payment?

Certified copy means a photocopy signed by a Policeman/accountant/bank saying it is a true copy of the original.

I don't think that usecash will be a winner as it will cause loads of problems for the suppliers of goods. Also there is no way in hell Ryanair/Aer Lingus/Ticketmaster will accept it. Those 3 merchants have a huge chunk of the 3v/wirecard market.

I emailed customer service about whether the local Dublin account had been closed:
We would like to inform you that contrary to former informations our bank
account at the Bank of Ireland is still open and you can make a wire transfer
to this bank account in order to fund your Wirecard account.

I was talking to them today (I am putting the option on all my webstores) - I can choose how long an item will be held. - In my case it will be 7 days. Notification of payment is almost instantaneous. They are trying to sort out options with ticketmaster & airlines - I believe a 12 hour window of payment is almost agreed. Initially only Irish sites & Irish shops will take it, but the UK is set to be on stream by November and rest of Europe in middle of next year. The alphyra network has 30,000 paypoints in UK and over 3,000 in Ireland and over 150,000 in Europe so virtually everybody will be within a few minutes of a paypoint.

Is Usecash in a similar vein to UKash?

    That's fair enough:)

Put an order in on dabs.ie last night with wirecard but just got an email saying that they can't process it without my address and phone number that appears on my CC statement... ehhh? Anyone know what address and phone number to use for a virtual card? :)

Common sense here. Use the details you supplied Wirecard when you registered. Are the looking for a statement from you?
